D&D Errata Nerfs Conjuring Spells, Makes Other Changes

Already addressed by pukunui pages ago. Even considering an action that sounds doable rather than is reasonable, the spell is a lot more restrictive than Dominate Person.

    D&D General 1e feel for 5E

That was actually never a 1e rule - that's a holdover from some Basic days. 1e's Method I was 4d6, drop low, arrange as desired. And this would be kind of weird since many 1e spells automatically scaled with level without having to burn a higher spell slot.

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

Ultimately, some of this depends on just how "less fond" you are of a game. Is it not your favorite but OK? Is it a game you're neutral toward? Is it a game you actively dislike? Because depending on that sentiment, you may have the perfect (system I prefer), the good (system I don't care for...

    D&D General 1e feel for 5E

Um... why? What's that trying to match in 1e? For my money, the most important element you'd be adding to give it a 1e feel would be the gritty healing option, followed by energy draining inflicting exhaustion (though it's likely to get out of hand fast if someone is unlucky enough to be vamped...

D&D General When We Were Wizards: Review of the Completed Podcast!

Majority, no. But there were agreements about always being offered the opportunity to match if anyone bought more of the outstanding shares or to potentially buy up what might be offered for sale. So he would always be given the opportunity to have an element of control - until he miscalculated...

D&D 5E (2024) Multiclassing: Slots and Prepared Spells

I think you're missing some major points here. 1) That epic boon is in 2014, not 2024, and can only be awarded by the DM, so any argument about how it would work with 2024 multiclassing rules or taken as a high level benefit (19th level) is hypothetical at best. 2) You can't gain a 9th level...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

The level of humblebragging dripping from that post is pretty high. Yeah, we get it. You think you're better than us.

    D&D 5E (2024) Stealth Errata

And, ultimately, I have no problem with that. But what's really needed here is some handling of invisibility by way of stealth vs invisibility by way of magical (or for invisible stalker, natural) means. Because while their effects on combat may be the same and worthy of being handled by one...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

It's kind of funny to receive a notification about getting a post reaction to a thread from multiple years ago. Interesting how current threads can lead to people taking deeper dives into the topic.

What Show Should Have Only Had One Season?

I think it was best with just the first 2 seasons. While neither the 3rd nor 4th seasons are really pointless, I think they kind of drag down the interesting narrative that had been going on.

What Show Should Have Only Had One Season?

I thought House of Cards, the original British series, was just fine after one season. The second season kind of brought it down to the point I didn't even watch the third.

Do All of Your RPG Maps Now Belong To Judges Guild? ... and more?

Interesting. I found it easier to do so because of the isometric maps. Helped me visualize how the different levels and raised/lowered sections all fit together.

D&D Errata Nerfs Conjuring Spells, Makes Other Changes

Of course it's not an auto-win - there's still a saving throw, there's still the concentration requirement, and it still only affects one creature leaving their allies/minions to try to break that concentration. It's just no longer so subject to an extended litigation about what's "reasonable"...

D&D General When We Were Wizards: Review of the Completed Podcast!

One of the things that amazed me so much was just how much leeway most of former TSR employees were going to give him. Granted, he enabled many of them to have something of a dream job and much of what we know now has come out in hindsight, but maybe we're all just living in a much more cynical...

D&D Errata Nerfs Conjuring Spells, Makes Other Changes

I would argue that the "reasonable" requirement was always WAY too subject to arguments and shenanigans at the table. Player: "My PC wouldn't see that as a reasonable suggestion. The spell has to fail..." <Much gnashing of teeth of the DM ensues> DM: "The BBEG wouldn't see that as a...

D&D General When We Were Wizards: Review of the Completed Podcast!

Alternatively, he thought he'd always have at least an equal ownership stake in the company to the point where it didn't really matter if the company owned the IP or he did. They were synonymous. I'd still consider that at least somewhat duplicitous since it was became clear that he wasn't going...
