I guess the difference is that Bahamut and Tiamat, and perhaps Sardior, are older than the current dragons. They started it all in the First World, while the other great wyrms dragons seems to have originated from the current multiverse.

Sardior is mentioned in the dragonborn UA as the "first creation" of Bahamut and Tiamat in the First World (ie. their son? They have been hinted that Bahamut and Tiamat had a son since 3.x, at least). I guess they are going to reprint that stuff in Fizban's.

This already happened in 5e. Check the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide entry on the dragonborn. This is a huge lol, given that in the 4e campaign guide, they had explicitly said that slavery was illegal according to the laws of High Imaskar...

One may think that, but if you search about dragonborn in forums and the like, you'll see mostly fanmade fixes and people complaining about how weak they are. Given that level of complaints, I was expecting the race not to be as popular as it is.

Thanks for the free publicity ;) I also think the Nentir Vale would have benefited from a full setting book. But the Vale has a ton of player's hooks at it is. They may be more local than those of the full settings, but they do exist, nonetheless.

First they should fix the dragonborn. After that, they can focus on making more powerful an already powerful race.

That dragonborn looks like a blue half-dragon without tail... I do miss the traditional looking dragonborn from 4e, but if this means the books are going to show more dragonborn art (something 5e was lacking), then I guess I have to get accustomed to it. Thanks for the review. I do see this...

Yes, that is true. However, he still has some input in the published products. He is consulted by WotC and whatnot.

Well, remember that the Realms are not Ed's alone. There is a contract in between. In published works, Ed cannot contradict what is already written in a published work. This doesn't mean he has to agree with that. I guess the Spellplague is a good example of this.

Thing is, the Wall was not created by Ed Greenwood (who has voiced that he also dislikes the Wall, as it messes up with the idea he had of how the afterlife in the Realms should work). It was an addendum of some author of the novels for some reason.
