DDAL DDAL Legal DMs Guild Books

Oh yeah, you're right—since Ac Inc is just about the least palatable flavor of D&D for me, and I did no more than skim the book and set it aside, I'd forgotten they put that in the Realms. As for the rest, you do make good points, gyor. I suppose time will tell. But for now I'm sure we can all...

DDAL DDAL Legal DMs Guild Books

Assuming you mean to write "are not splitting up the fan base," I think you may be right, in the sense that the setting books they've done in the Ravnica format have all performed well in the market. Look, I'm a fellow Forgotten Realms junkie who would love to see WotC release a new FR setting...

DDAL DDAL Legal DMs Guild Books

Right. But WotC has decided to limit the number of books they release annually, as part of their overall "don't flood the market/overwhelm casual players" approach for 5e. And that means they want every one of their limited number of releases to sell as well or better than whatever else they...

Unearthed Arcana Spells & Magic Tattoos: New Unearthed Arcana

And tattoo magic was a huge part of Planescape: Torment.

D&D 5E (2014) Ed Greenwood & Alex Kammer Working On 'The Border Kingdoms'

This is a DMs Guild publication. Unless I'm very much mistaken, the only way WotC is involved will be to cash the checks for its cut of each sale.

D&D 5E (2014) Ed Greenwood & Alex Kammer Working On 'The Border Kingdoms'

I asked Ed whether there would be a POD option. He said yes!

D&D General Tower of the Realms Mini Scenery Piece

Well, as a Forgotten Realms fan, this got me all revved up, since the last big "miniature" WizKids announced, the Falling Star ship, turned out to be an early hint for Ghosts of Saltmarsh, and the name "Tower of the Realms" (however dopey) seemed to promise an upcoming FR-themed book after three...

    D&D 5E (2014) March's D&D Book To Be Announced On January 9th

The main image on the dice tray included in the Explorer's Kit features the catchphrase "Together in harmony our stories are told" -- if that doesn't say multi-author adventure anthology, I don't know what does.

    D&D 5E (2014) March's D&D Book To Be Announced On January 9th

There was a dice set for Ravnica, and that was a campaign setting sourcebook. (It included just one short adventure.) Edited because I had misremembered an Eberron dice set; thanks to Matthew33Celtics for setting me straight.

D&D General I'm reading the Forgotten Realms Novels- #202 The Howling Delve by Jaleigh Johnson (Dungeons 2)

Goonalan, I’m really enjoying this thread and hope you keep it going for a long time! (No substance whatsoever to this post — just encouragement!)

D&D General I'm reading the Forgotten Realms Novels- #202 The Howling Delve by Jaleigh Johnson (Dungeons 2)

Not necessarily! Back in the 2e-4e days it TSR/WotC occasionally would publish (usually in Dragon Magazine) stat blocks for characters in the novels. And of course there are the Heroes Lorebook, Villains Lorebook, etc. sourcebooks that do the same. And Elaine Cunningham has said that when Jeff...

D&D General I'm reading the Forgotten Realms Novels- #202 The Howling Delve by Jaleigh Johnson (Dungeons 2)

Wait...why would Red Sands count? Was it supposed to be set in the Realms at some point? Does that mean I can offload all my unwanted old fantasy novels to you at elevated prices by writing Forgotten Realms on their covers in crayon? (Please say yes, I need the money and I won't part with any...

WotC Baldur's Gate III Announced; Powered by D&D 5E

I’m sure there will be some continuity. The story of Gorion’s ward/Abdel Adrian (protagonist of I & II) may be over, but I’ll eat my hat if we don’t see other characters from the originals (Minsc etc.). And Bhaal, always Bhaal...

The New Dungeons & Dragons Storyline for 2019 Leaked Ahead of Live Stream

Nope. The announcement was just “Warforged! Hardcover Eberron! That’s happening!” Nothing more than that. Technically didn’t even specify when it’s coming, though I assume it will be the next hardcover after Descent into Avernus. We knew this was coming at some point anyway so pretty anticlimactic.

    D&D 5E (2014) Heroes of Baldur's Gate is a D&D Adventure From Bioware's Baldur's Gate Designer

Heroes of Baldur's Gate takes place a decade after the Time of Troubles, not during it. You're not the first to make this mistake, though. This book, set almost 125 years in the "past" from the current Forgotten Realms year, was trumpeted as "a new supplement from around the time of the Time of...

WotC New WotC Game Studio Headed By Bioware's James Ohlen

Pretty sure this is it. They've licensed BGIII away to someone else. Remember this? Short version: as of last October, an industry insider said that a game studio (but not Beamdog) was working on Baldur's Gate III.

Ulisses Update: Torg is Back; Dark Tides for Wrath & Glory 30 Percent Off!

Hi Nostalgia Ward -- Have you had the opportunity to speak with them about The Dark Eye? Two months ago they were supposed to run a Kickstarter for new books (themed around magic) for that game, then canceled the KS campaign on the morning it was supposed to begin. Since then I haven't heard...

Upcoming products will "touch on cultures that don't usually get exposure."

I'd bet a lot of money he means cultures that haven't been explored in 5e. The whole WotC team is constantly saying things like "We haven't gone there yet" and "We haven't ever done that" to mean "It hasn't yet appeared in 5e."
