Moving Stinking Cloud over an enemy: Did the enemy enter the cloud?

Customer Service isn't reliable enough even though I would love them to be. The way you word a question can totally alter the way CS answers your question and you can end up with totally opposite rulings. The rules are VERY clear on it anyway and only people who think they are exploiting somehow...

My armour hinders my recovery from... Lycanthropy??

I agree with Pierson. Simply put, wearing the gear puts a strain on your body's energy reserves and fighting off a disease or whatever is that much harder.

Defenders aren't very good at defending?

The fighter is a good defender because of his higher durability combined with the ability to stop people from moving. The paladin simply isn't as good at lower levels. Later on they do much better when it's the big bad single enemy but not all fights are set up like that. Overall I think the...

Help reign in a player who refuses to play his role

I'm surprised everyone isn't in agreement that the player in question isn't just trying to ruin the game. This is excusable only if he has a learning disability or something else similar that would inhibit his understanding of the rules in most ways. To me and many others, it's obvious this guy...

Is Fey Step really the best racial power?

I'm not sure why people are bringing up other racial bonuses/features besides powers in this thread. That is part of the reason some of the powers are flat out better then others, because the race package gives more then just a racial power. But the question wasn't which set of abilities from a...

Is Fey Step really the best racial power?

All of them are pretty decent. The weakest in my eyes is probably Dilettante, but it is still okay. Dragonborn - Breath Weapon rocks.Low damage doesn't even matter. Free minion killing is great, so is free multi marking for fighters. Dwarf - Second Wind use for minor action. Looks deceptively...

Healing during a short rest with leader healing

I don't find healers/warlords using their powers during short rests to be too much, but I do find Melora's Tide to be too much because it allows for too much healing surge conservation in my opinion. Obviously this only matters when you have people pretty badly injured but a reusable source of...

    Channel Divinity Feats

I actually think that Melora's Tide needs to be nerfed in the outside encounters sense. It's silly that one feat can effectively can provide so many extra healing surges worth of healing. In combat I think it's okay, especially in the hands of a cleric due to healing lore.

Plate armor for 1st level Fighters

Essentially automatic plate proficiency is a class feature of the paladin and not the fighter. ( Not Class Feature like Lay on Hands, but a feature of the class. ) It wouldn't make sense to give it to fighters since they are supposed to use a feat to get it. They simply aren't trained in it.

    Invisible Paladin

Wow, there are some twisted versions of Divine Challenge out there. There's nothing wrong with using Divine Challenge and then running. It's far less effective then actually standing and fighting. Making up all this extra fluff about having to stand your ground is a little silly. The idea of the...

    Quick Paladin question

I think Paladins aren't that good against solos/elites. Anything with enough hit points to not worry about the damage from divine challenge can just go after a better target then the paladin and therefore save itself damage in the long run. Let's take a level 1 party for example. Many paladins...

    Quick Paladin question

To answer your defender question, I think the two classes stack up to each other about equal. The fighter does more damage due to better control in the field, but the paladin has heals and buffs which keep people alive/protected.

DMG Intro Adventure - Big Spoiler!

If I am reading this correctly I think you or your DM works Divine Challenge incorrectly. It does damage each round that the target is marked and chooses to attack something besides the paladin ( and of course the paladin keeps engaging it )

    Illumination

Try to remember that the game is based around a number of assumptions, one of these being that the sunrod exists and works as it is listed in the PHB. I'm not saying D&D isn't fun without sunrods, just that darkness and other poor illumination conditions can become much more difficult to deal...

    Why do Orcs get Intimidate?

I didn't think it was a loophole to have a skill function as intended I guess.

    Illumination

I don't have a problem with sunrods really. I do agree with people that it is odd that light doesn't have a dim range outside of the bright range but have come to the conclusion that they simply have rolled them into one for most cases. So instead of saying a torch has 3 squares of bright and 2...

    Why do Orcs get Intimidate?

Where does it say players can't be forced to surrender via the intimidation skill? If you can be mind controlled to attack friends I don't see why you can't be forced to surrender.

    Why do Orcs get Intimidate?

That cracks me up. I want to try that on some players sometime.

    Half-elves and +2 CON

Raduin, for some reason Grom doesn't acknowledge those statements even though they pretty much point to half elves being tougher.
