I haven't been playtesting in a while or following the comments but all's I can say is that I really welcome those ideas. Part of the turnoff of 4e for me was that everything was supposed to fit. Warforged in the Realms etc..If something is setting specific put it in the setting book don't say...
I agree with this 100%. Stick to the Core books and the Complete Divine, Complete Arcane and Complete Divine. Other stuff shows the power creep and can be unbalancing. Like the Book of Nine Swords. And no 3rd party products.
But I disgree about Pathfinder. I was familiar with the 3x ruleset...
Lawyer here but don't know IP stuff. Didnt all the rights etc owned by TSR get sold to WotC. so I don't understand how someone can claim to copyright the words TSR and link them to OSR stuff?

Yeah I love Traveller. I haven't played in a while. I was running a Mongoose Traveller campaign in 2008. I have most of the books and one of the CD ROMS from Marc Miller. Its an awesome game. I'm not a big fan of the TNE setting though. I hope Mongoose keeps publishing the books so the Hiver and...
I like the setting a lot too but I'd be more likely to get the book if it used Pathfinder than its own system. I own most of the d20 books and the setting is awesome!
