    So...anything on Craft?

Thats it. Thats what I've been trying to put my finger on about what I don't like about 4e. They simplified monster building and NPC creation so that WOTC can easily create adventures (and they won't mess up the math). Not necessarily for a better game, but so that WOTC can do their job...

    Grognard's First Take On 4e

So far, the rules don't feel like D&D to me. Or at least they don't seem to be enough of an improvement for me to never play 3.5 again. When 3.0 came out it was a breath of fresh air and I would never play 2.0 again. With 4.0 it doesn't seem to be a replacement for 3.5 but rather a...

White Plume Mountain - doable as a one-shot?

I ran it under a 3.0 fan conversion and WOTCs 3.5 conversion. I don't think you will be able to finish it in one 4-5 hr session. You would need to really hurry things along. That being said I think this works very well for a temp 1-3 session game. When I ran the 3.5 conversion I believe it...

    I miss CG

I agree completely. I bet 4.5 goes to using G, N, and E. Why did they only 'half' fix alignment? Reminds me of 3.0 where every class lost weapon restrictions except for the Druid.

    Five Alignments?

Dang, I thought they had fixed this. Why not just good, neutral, and evil? Now we can have arguments about what is Good and what is Lawful Good, yipee.

    Answers on the GSL!

Actually my point is that unlike the GSL (from what we know) has lots of areas that are not covered (unlike the OGL) thus producing uncertainty. There is not clear definition of a 'fan site' so it cannot afford special protection. My biggest complaints are... No interactive software No built...

    Minion Fist Fights

Didn't read the whole thread. Minions should be thought of as being 'outside' of hit points. 1 hit always kills them, a miss if it does damage will injure them but not kill them.

eh, very much agree that they will not go after a forum. But what about a site that posts all the open content, or whatever its going to be called? What about a site that creates a random NPC generator that is way better than WOTCs, and everyone uses it? What if someone creates something better...

    Answers on the GSL!

Yes, thats true. But it used to be very easy to lift a feat, spell, class or whatever from another publication. Now its not so easy. Thats my point. Not that it can't be done. Just that the fence is higher now, and people are lazy so they may just not re-use but will re-invent. We will...

    D&D Insider News

True, but I would rather have a gentleman's agreement with WOTC that I can use their stuff w/o fear of getting letter from their lawyers.

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

WOTC may be in contact with some of the larger 3PP. However, there are many smaller 3PP that WOTC has not contacted. Me including. All we have is rumors, speculation, and no updates or timetables from WOTC.

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

I understand the need to "hedge your bets when predicting the date of major announcements". However, you are doing a poor job in communicating with the community. You should be at least be posting once a week saying something like "We are not quite ready to answer your questions, we hope to be...

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

Yeah, thats my guess as well. But I had hopes that they would answer the questions. Its looking more and more like they will just wait until June 6.

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

What the heck is going on? Wasn't WOTC gona answer these questions in a day or two? Then we heard from someone saying that everyone was at a show, or in a meeting, or in a different part of the country. But they would answer the questions 'real soon'. Do I have my story straight? So, what is...
