Spoilers Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

I may have to go back and rewatch the ending, but I feel like the changeling in the early season 4 episode who sabotages the Defiant doesn't resemble Odo in the moments before Odo accidentally kills him. (Also, I assume that has consequences for Odo down the track?)

Who is your favorite James Bond?

OK I just rewatched both of Dalton’s Bond films today. I must admit I was mistaken. Bouvier is a badass throughout the film and is no swooning damsel even by the end. I actually really liked both of these films, so I might have to reassess my rating of Dalton. Craig is still #1 for me, but...

D&D General Should the third Forgotten Realms DLC have actually been set in the Forgotten Realms?

Yes. A MtG-plane-as-multiversal-Feywild-realm feels tacked on.

    D&D 5E (2024) How can I do a Charisma-Investigation (or a Strength/Dexterity-Investigation if I can't use Charisma) to find a secret door?

I've experienced this before, both as a player and as a DM. Sometimes it's OK, but at other times, it doesn't end well. With my "home" group, my players currently consist of my teenage daughter, my wife, and another couple who are friends of ours. They've only ever played 5e (since 2014 for the...

D&D General Eberron - why don't you run it? [-]

In an attempt to steer the conversation back toward Eberron, how do people view the House Ghallanda Gold Dragon Inns? Do you see them as Eberron's equivalent of a Motel-6 with a McDonald's or KFC attached, or do you see them as something nicer? Are they more like a Hilton with a 5-star restaurant?

    D&D 5E (2024) How can I do a Charisma-Investigation (or a Strength/Dexterity-Investigation if I can't use Charisma) to find a secret door?

Charisma makes tons of sense for Investigation in a social context. I tend to go with Charisma (Investigation) as a substitute for the old Gather Information skill. But Charisma (Investigation) for finding secret doors? Yeah, nah. I got nothing. EDIT: So I put it to ChatGPT. Here are some of...

D&D General Eberron - why don't you run it? [-]

In the Realma at least, I’d say Baldur’s Gate is probably closest to Eberron in feel. It’s very noir, and it’s got more (magi)tech than other FR cities, thanks to the Temple of Gond. It even has relatively modern cranes in its port. Lantan is another part of the Realms that has a strong Eberron...

Spoilers Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

I did see the belt briefly in an earlier season but then it vanished. Does it come back again later? I’ve read that Rene liked the belt after first getting to wear it as his mirror version, but it seems the wardrobe change didn’t last (at least not right away).

Dungeons & Dragons to Release Lorwyn: First Light, a New Digital Expansion Based on Magic: The Gathering World

Did you mean to say that the Feywild ate Lorwyn? The Feywild is not unique to the FR setting.

D&D General Eberron - why don't you run it? [-]

Indeed. And I think this is one of the main reasons I bounced pretty hard off the art previews for the delayed Eberron book. It felt like they were really leaning into the 1920s art nouveau aesthetic too much for my tastes. I want less 1920s in my Eberron, not more.

Dungeons & Dragons to Release Lorwyn: First Light, a New Digital Expansion Based on Magic: The Gathering World

A book expanding on Arcavios beyond the university would be fantastic!

D&D General Eberron - why don't you run it? [-]

If there was a “things people get wrong about Eberron” thread, this would be my number 1 item. Yes, there are post-WW1 elements, but they’re more 1920s than 1930s. But the Cold War aspect is more post-WW2. What happened to Cyre on the Day of Mourning was the magical equivalent of nuclear...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I read recently that Emma Watson has been put off acting in movies because of what she describes as the “soul destroying” aspect of having to promote them. Clearly the devil was a carpetbagger.

Spoilers Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Maybe they just found some spare uniforms lying around … I'm really liking this look for Kira. You're telling me it gets even better? "Rejoined" is a real tearjerker! I'm with Kira on that Trill taboo. I can see what you guys mean about Season 4 being where DS9 really gets good. Although...

Spoilers Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

and she goes trudging through sand dunes in them too, I see! Dukat and Kira bonding is amusing. “Indiscretion” is a fantastic episode. A+ from me. I understand this is the episode that introduced the Breen. They seemed not all that compared to their portrayal on Discovery S5!

Hey look, there's a new Robin Hood show coming with Sean Bean as the Sheriff!

Jack Black is certainly bucking that trend! And Sean Bean certainly doesn't look like an Olympian as the Sheriff of Nottingham. He looks positively elderly!

D&D General Looking for Art for Ranger's Cabin

I can't recall if there's any art of it, but Dragon of Icespire Peak (from the Essentials Kit) includes a ranger's log cabin hunting lodge in the woods, complete with a detailed map of the lodge and surrounds. That might be worth checking out!

D&D General Eberron - why don't you run it? [-]

Which books do you have? The original 3.5e Eberron Campaign Setting doesn't use the word "noir" much, preferring "dark" instead. There's a sidebar with a list of inspirational movies, including The Maltese Falcon, The Mummy, Raiders of the Lost Ark, etc. The 5e book has a section in the first...
