I mean, that is certainly fair :)

Yes, not sure why that is controversial or makes some point you think it makes? Sorcerers very often also dip a Paladin level for armor. Since when is a full-caster armor-dip an unknown thing to you? Almost all full casters have the identical issue with AC.

D&D General They're Building A Memorial Game Table Sculpture In Honor of Gary Gygax

City regulations (which were the delay all along apparently) require funds for maintaining a statue memorial including regular cleaning and landscaping, repairs or restorations, and security and safety measures. That's part of their permitting process.

I am playing a low level wizard right now. Took a single level dip in Ranger for armor, which did not reduce my spell slot progression (just spell level progression). Uses true strike with a melee or ranged weapon for decent damage and a weapon mastery one each (from Ranger). Mirror image and...

    D&D 5E (2024) The Great Wizard Extinction.

I didn't make that equivalence. You claimed "wizard extinction" and nobody is playing them. Then cited a poll about high level play being rare - in the same poll, it said wizards are popular and therefore not extinction. Your two positions are mutually exclusive. OK so your assumption people...

First no, it's more than 1% and we're not talking "highest" levels. Second, they WERE, years ago. But we kept playing my man. They started to support high level play better. Catch up! If you're going to call a class overrated, you cant exclude 40% of their levels because you personally don't...

    D&D 5E (2024) What should the 15th Class be?

I like Warlords but it really feels like Swordmage is missing.

    D&D 5E (2024) The Great Wizard Extinction.

People care a lot about it. It's a pretty common topic here. And yes, they get the same spell slots as other classes, but have a ton to cast outside of combat which doesn't cost a spell slot. Find Familiar, Identify, Tiny Hut, Phantom Steed, Divination, Augury, Telepathic Bond, Detect Magic...

    D&D 5E (2024) The Great Wizard Extinction.

The millions of people who have played high level games. By now I am shocked you have not been. Come on man, you've played 5e long enough that high level should be a meaningful part of your game by now.

You get a ton of spells. Every 2024 subclass automatically gives you additional ones with the Savant ability (two spells from your school, and whenever you gain access to a new level of spell slots an addition one from your school.) VERY quickly you have way more spells than you can cast and...

    D&D 5E (2024) The Great Wizard Extinction.

Wizards are strong because 1) rituals, 2) flexibility, 3) the best high level spells, 4) every single published adventure has a ton of spells they can copy into their spellbooks. Fireball? Wizards tend to be at their best with control spells.

Unearthed Arcana New Psion update, Dungeons and Dragons Unearthed Arcana

But are you? They have to fail a Charisma save, to get a 1d8 decrease in the charisma save. If they're failing their next charisma save against your spell, they would likely have then failed that charisma save against the Archer's shot! It just all seems silly. If this were a free ability as...

Unearthed Arcana New Psion update, Dungeons and Dragons Unearthed Arcana

Maybe I am missing something. But, Ego Whip looks like a completely useless spell. OK so let's start with the range is 120 feet but you can only do it if a creature within 30 feet of you makes a charisma ability check of saving throw. So...how is it 120 feet? Second, Charisma saves are rare...

D&D General They're Building A Memorial Game Table Sculpture In Honor of Gary Gygax

It takes more than that kind of money to fund the things you named in any meaningful way. No, were not. At least, not yet. The Great Recession ended in 2009. We are nothing even vaguely close to that right now. In fact, technically we're not even a recession right now, though the odds are...

D&D General Does Lessons of the First One -> Magic Initiate count as Warlock spells?

RAW i think no, but RAI I think it would be fine and not unbalanced.

Dungeons & Dragons Releases Updated Unearthed Arcana for Arcane Subclasses

They name Magic Weapon directly in the ability, which changes the weapon to do an additional point of damage. So I think they intend the indirect damage to be fair game for the spell selections.

Dungeons & Dragons Releases Updated Unearthed Arcana for Arcane Subclasses

My main reaction to this UA, EXCEPT for the monk, is that each of these subclasses do fit with the theme of the subclass better than they did before. Of the Wizard subclasses, the Transmuter is the most interesting.
