This seems like a solution in search of a problem. While I like most of the 2024 changes, there are still plenty that leave me scratching my head, like at-will arcane eye for 9th-level warlocks.

IIRC the shift to make gnolls demonic began way back in early 3e, and I'm fine with it. If that's not to your taste you could parallel Warcraft's orc lore and make some of the gnolls corrupted by the lure of demon blood and others still untainted and just trying to make it in the world. Still...

What I want specifically is variants of monsters that fill a role. 4e did a great job of this, as have a lot of the 3rd-party 5e monster books. Orc berserkers, orc shaman, orc assassins, orc warlocks, that sort of thing. Especially more elite lieutenant and boss-level threats.

There is very little established lore on it. I think it was always intended to be a DM sandbox. Most of the sources listed in the fan wiki are only references to it. Volo's Guide to the Sword Coast (2e) has a 2-page description of the history of the place, with very little current info.

I can see it now. All the art will be AI-generated, rules will be encoded on the blockchain and available only as NFTs, die results will be weighted by subscription tier status, somehow.
