GOD RULES: Player's Guide (5e) Kickstarter Pre-Launch Page

Thanks for the kind words amigo. Zoomed out the original looked okay to me, but zoomed in there were clear problems with the eyes*. *Much like myself. As a Chaotic Neutral Fire God Nezha is a bit of a crazy, mischievous soul. Not sure if you have watched the two Chinese Animated Nezha movies...

Thank you amigo - apparently only a 1 in 500 chance it all goes 'pear shaped' (as us Brits would say) according to the Specialist.

Not sure if I have mentioned this offhand at some point but my eyesight has been deteriorating for about 2 years and its been very noticeable these past 6 months. This is due to two factors: recent clouding of the lenses (after my Lens Replacement Surgery in 2014) and a build up of calcium in my...

GOD RULES: Player's Guide (5e) Kickstarter Pre-Launch Page

Howdy Micah, I have Late Pledges enabled though (IIRC) they will be £2 more (for the books) than the Kickstarter Price. Late Pledges should be available for 30 days after the Kickstarter - I could enable them until PDF fulfillment, but I am new to this and not sure what the best thing to do...

GOD RULES: Player's Guide (5e) Kickstarter Pre-Launch Page

Before I get to my justifications, I just wanted to say a BIG, BIG thank you for running this greatly appreciated Just Passing Through. I know 'at face value' Nezha seems like overkill in this scenario, however, you are missing a few key rules tweaks (covered in the book obviously) I make that...

GOD RULES: Player's Guide (5e) Kickstarter Pre-Launch Page

Maybe just treat advancement similar to Dragons in 5e - which is approx. a 7 CR jump each Age - although I use +2 DR for simplicity (with 1 DR = +4 CR) although that needs slightly tweaked under CR 8 because it's XP based/derived. So assuming the Newborn was CR 44/DR 8, the Ancient would be CR...

What is the size difference between the newborn Titan and an Adult or Older titan?

How big are the Spawn? Two CR 8 monsters are effectively equal to an Epic level character...although the character will usually win if it goes nova. Two CR 16 monsters would equal a Level 20 character going nova. Roughly speaking.

GOD RULES: Player's Guide (5e) Kickstarter Pre-Launch Page

Well it sounds about Divine Rank 8 ish, so Challenge Rating 44. Obsidia is probably the closest parallel. But there might be other materials that also fit. Not sure about tens of thousands of spawn that each individually destroy armies (of ambiguous power). Maybe the spawn collectively...

    SuperLycans

There is a lot more too them that I don't want to reveal just yet. They will be one of the 100+ Epic Monsters in the God Rules: Epic Bestiary- Primer... However, the book coming next after God Rules: Player's Guide (Kickstarter now Live) will be a 160 page Adventure-Bestiary (For Levels 17-20...

    SuperLycans

Howdy amigo! :) There are a bunch, off the top of my head... Varcolac are Vampire/Werewolves. Salawa/Sha are Mummy/Werewolves of Set I'm sure I have some in the new dimension of Fear but can't recall the names at the moment. While I like all Epic Monsters, the Brachyurus and Sirrush did...

Check out the Stats for the Demigod Nezha in the free Preview. IIRC he deals 12d10. with one attack using a +3 spear.

Probably 60% more than a Level 20 Fighter, also take into account a +3 longsword now deals 4d8 damage now instead of 1d8+3 but that should apply to all.

Not really. Having High Charisma doesn't mean you can lift a Black Hole.

GOD RULES: Player's Guide (5e) Kickstarter Pre-Launch Page

Howdy Arcanist amigo! Well there are six 'chains' of weapon type. For damage you probably want some of the Super-dense weapons, though they specifically increase your Crit Damage. Depending on how Strong the character is that will determine the heaviest weapon they can wield. Roughly what...

Last week, the Level 14-16 party beat Graz'zt, 2 Marilith and a Storm Giant...easily

One of the things I strongly suggest is never run a deity without proper bodyguards - not simply minions. My Orcus is CR 28 (and in my opinion a Boss fight for a party of Divine Rank 2 Quasi-deity PCs) . I suggest his Throne Room encounter be: 1 PC: Orcus...+ 1d6 Wraiths 2 PCs: Orcus, a...

Last week, the Level 14-16 party beat Graz'zt, 2 Marilith and a Storm Giant...easily

Correct, but you are thinking in 3E Immortals Handbook terms (which I always maintained worked up to about Greater God levels), not 5e God Rules Player's Guide terms (which works at any level). Precisely why I have dialed down the number of Divine Abilities to a 1e Deities & Demigods style...

Last week, the Level 14-16 party beat Graz'zt, 2 Marilith and a Storm Giant...easily

It was in a set of caverns one central chamber (about 12x12) then a few smaller ones. Part of the issue was Graz't (and his side) rolled terrible in Initiative. As I recall he did Dominate someone on his First turn, by that point he was down 1 Marilith already. The Paladin with the Holy...

Last week, the Level 14-16 party beat Graz'zt, 2 Marilith and a Storm Giant...easily

Absolutely and that main complaint is the Monsters are not tough enough. Totally agree. It was too complex in 3e because you have too many feats, skills, resistances and all sorts things for DMs to remember - it was just too much. The problems are never epic monsters do 500+ damage and have...

Last week, the Level 14-16 party beat Graz'zt, 2 Marilith and a Storm Giant...easily

Fire away buddy - all opinions welcomed. I agree astronomical numbers simply as artificial difficulty IS a bad idea. However, the flipside is, powerful Epic Monsters need to deal sufficient damage to be considered 'powerful Epic Monsters', otherwise they just get steamrolled by the PCs...
