I don't have books in front of me, but a player of mine has a cleric of fharlagnan (sp?) and with his domains, Travel and Celerity, he gets +10 spd in light armor, and then casts Longstrider for another +10 for hours/day. He stays mobile.

As a DM, the monsters use treasure if they possess the intelligence and means to. That said, nothing ticks off my PC's more than a baddie drinking a potion or using a scroll in front of them. "That's OUR treasure! Stop him!" ha ha!!!

initiative cards I like to use 3x5 cards and write the PC names down, and one (or more) for the foes. Whenever a PC finishes their turn, i place them on the bottom. That way if someone delays i can easily change the order too.

Personally, for a more organized military flavah, i like to give some Hobs the Feat Phalanx Fighting (forget the book). When next to each other = better AC with shield and REF save. They fight with light wpns (shortswords), but a spear to chuck before battle, maybe some archers in the rear...
