Jakandor sounds intriguing to me, but I think it was lost in the pile of late 2e settings. I asked here about it, and some folks said they bought, fewer read it, but all said they never actually played it.

I stand corrected as well. While I still don’t “know” anyone who actually played Basic, I should have been more respectful of the fact that somebody somewhere played it.

I build the economy up from wages. If you assume 1 sp a day for unskilled labor, the dorm price is more like 2-5 cp, but 1 gp for the rooms for richer people - like at rooms at Hommlet works OK. This makes 1 sp equal to $1 in the period of roughly 1870-1900.

I highly recommend it. And I am more Old School than current. A Greyhawk + 3.5e with AD&D adventures DM; I’m not a fan of 5e or Forgotten Realms. (Though I’m open to learning about them, and I’m a player in a 5e Ravenloft game.) Once you figure it out, it’s arguably the best computer game ever.
