Could it ever be? However the two shows started out, they each found their own identity and told their own stories through the course of their runs, and whether or not the origins of DS9 are problematic is somewhat irrelevant this many years down the line.

Also the episode in which Miles wished Keiko could be more like a man. :) I do feel sorry for Keiko - as a side character she only ever really showed up in Miles-centric episodes, and since Miles-centric episodes were almost always under the "O'Brien must suffer" rule, she tended to come off as...

While I agree that Julian and Miles's relationship is definitely bromance rather than romance, they do make it clear that it's a very deep bromance, especially in the "you like me a bit more" scene when they're invading Sloane's mind.

Dead Reckoning kinda lost me a little, I don't particularly like their take on "evil AI". But I'll wait to see the rest of it in Final Reckoning before fully making up my mind. But yeah, Ghost Protocol, Rogue Nation and Fallout are all excellent.

I played the heck out of the X-Wing and TIE Fighter games, but I think I stalled out on the B-Wing expansion because of a couple of missions I really struggled with, so I didn't get attached to it back then. The TIE Defender was another ship that it was really cool to see turn up in Rebels.

Seeing the prototype in Rebels really sold me on them, and showing the production-line models using the mini-superlaser at the end of Skeleton Crew was a real squee moment.

He's feared or respected in-universe (Vader has to single him out with a "no disintegrations" reminder, he's the one whose approving nod confirms the acceptance of Leia's fake-bounty-hunter persona in Jabba's court, Han's alarmed when Chewie mentions him...

Such a complicated set of relationships. There's obvious attraction between Julian and Garak, and meanwhile O'Brien is married to Keiko, but Julian and Miles are the true power couple of DS9.

Heh, I never realised that about Nog's actor. Makes sense in retrospect - you can hide a lot of age cues under all that makeup, and it'd be tough for a kid to sit through its application.

They really lucked out in getting a couple of child actors who could grow so well with the show. And then they gave them good material to work with.

DS9's pilot episode is perhaps the best of any Trek series. It sets out the show's ultimate themes better than most of the rest of the first two seasons.
