    Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser

A couple of levels in Bard will do well. Regarding the Mouser, give him a couple of levels in Wizard, as, in most stories, he is unable to do any spell by his own.

    Non-Wizards Products

There are a lot of good d20 material being published. Which ones are the best will depend greatly of where your interest lies. As a rule of thumb, I usually appreciate books from Atlas and Green Ronin. Other publishers also offer good stuff, but I think that these two companies are really much...

    VP/WP for d20 M?

Just use it. You can easily take the rules from Star Wars or Spycraft and apply it over d20 Modern. Quite frankly, I think that the d20M's massive damage rule has an edge over the VP/WP systems.

What RPG systems do you like?

My favorite system is Chaosium's BRP, as used in Call of Cthulhu, Stormbringer, Ringworld, and Superworld (although I never read the last one). It is far less cinematic than d20, although it can be used in heroic campaigns. I also like Chaosium's RuneQuest, which is the father of BRP, although...

D20, D&D and Universal Gaming system needed

Looks like you're looking for HERO, which, in my opinion, is the only real generic rpg rules set available. GURPS and d20 Modern are good modular system, where you can easily add some new modules such as magic or psionic rules, which are not necessarily consistent one with the order. HERO is...

[Meta]Drop Down Menus on News Site

Good job, not only is a better page design than the previous one but also works nicely with Opera 7.1.1 for Windows.

    Help with a War

I have played and runned a number of adventures in which the players were participant in large scale engagements. Quite frankly, forget about any mass combat rules set. It is pointless. The PCs will not make much of a difference in the fray, unless they are the generals leading the battle...

Does anyone miss the generic cleric?

Despite having no problem with the current cleric, I kind of enjoy the old generalist clerics. I always assume that, even in a polytheistic society, many of the lesser deities would not have many shrines dedicated exclusively to them. As such, it would made sense to have generalist clerics that...

    Need advice for war/military campaign

A few suggestions: You might want to downplay the importance of magic. Spellcasters can easily shadow soldiers, which might spoil the military tone of your campaign. Also, you should care for avoiding excessive high level NPCs. If there are too many, there is no need for an army. Small parties...

Excerpt from the D&D Miniatures Handbook up at the WoTC site

Perhaps you haven't noticed but the Marshal has a completely different feeling than the cleric. I don't like to play clerics to the point that I prefer any class over it. The marshal reminds me the heroes from Warcraft but not D&D clerics in any way. Is the cleric class more powerful? Who...

    Updated Old Dungeons and Dragons

I got the impression that they are planning something like the old D&D (not the Advanced one). I think that this is great, as it is something not currently available to d20 players.

Although somebody at Eden will probably respond here after a while, you'll get better chances posting at Eden's message boards.

    Favorite non-WotC publishers

I place Green Ronin as number 1 non-WotC d20 publisher as it is the only one who actually keeps high standards in all its releases. Although, I haven't read all their books, I am still looking for one which is not good. Second place goes to the Penumbra imprint by Atlas Games. Most of their...

    [3.5] Oriental Adventures

I don't think that they should re-release all 3.0 major books. However, as you pointed out in relation to the Psionics Handbook, which you think is underbalanced in relation to the other books, there is a problem with Oriental Adventures. A sizeable part of it is dedicated to a setting not owned...

    [3.5] Oriental Adventures

Mine too. I would replace Rogukan material with new Greyhawk material, which would include Mahasarpa. A few months latter, Kara Tur could be re-introduced in its own book. Realistic, I think it is too much wishful thinking.

    [3.5] Oriental Adventures

Nope, although it should be pretty minor, considering that classes have changed and so on. There was a little bit of discussion at Wizards' boards. I can only hope that the lack of information is a sign that they will revise the book in the near future, although I wouldn't bet on it.

DM: Do you allow Mongoose Publishing Books into your game?

I brought the very first two Slayer's books from Mongoose (Hobgoblins and Gnolls) and, despite I loved the concept, I found them pretty bad. Months latter, I was convinced by a shop owner to give them another chance with Gladiator: Sands of Death, which I found to be rather weak -- despite the...

which realm is your game set in?

I usually homebrew, but my last campaign was set in Greyhawk. I personally like to run games in Greyhawk as the world is much less detailed than other alternatives. It is easy to pick a region and develop it to my liking, not being worried about players complaining that my game is diverging from...

    ENnies 2004 - looking ahead

Right now, most of the products cited in this thread, such as Arcana Unearthed, are enjoying the great popularity granted by all the hype they received after a well done pre-release marketing. Some will be surely good, but I want to read them careful and playtest them before taking any decision...

    Stormbringer

I also highly recomend Stormbringer. It is a very nice game, much superior than DLoM in every aspect. The rules are easy to play and combat is fast and lethal. Character generation is dice based but it is not hard to adapt a point based system. There is a good amount of setting information and...
