D&D General Arcane Subclasses UA Survey is up

While the 2024 PHB has a couple of pages that bring up the Exploration and Social Interaction pillars for 5.5e, they don't have much to go on mechanically as the Combat pillar does. So, the subclasses are more oriented to combat. As for the other two pillars, it's up to the player to role-play...

D&D General Arcane Subclasses UA Survey is up

I don't think there are that many adventures (official, 3pp or homebrewed) for 5e that go beyond 15th to make it worthwhile to pick up a prestige class.

The fourth or fifth feat in the chain would have to be something like a Boon Feat.

D&D General Arcane Subclasses UA Survey is up

They could be reintroduced for 5e/5.5e. But would they be introduced as they were in earlier editions of D&D, or could they be reintroduced in a new format such as a feat chain? If brought back as they were in 2e/3e, then you would have to deal with the drawbacks that come with multiclassing. As...

Planescape Which Planescape faction do you most closely identify with?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faction_(Planescape)#Original_factions The above link provides a list of each of the Planescape Factions, and a bit of their philosophy. After reading through it myself, I would throw my lot in with the Free League (aka the Indeps).

    D&D General Linnorm Dragonborn

That's not the feedback he was looking for. He wanted someone to look at the traits of his Nordic Dragonborn and tell him if they were or were not balanced in terms of 5e game play. Do you want him to use something other than Nordic for his Dragonborn? He used the word Nordic because he's...

D&D General What makes a TTRPG a "D&D Variant" to you?

Another thing that would make a TTRPG into a variant of D&D is compatibility. If you can use something from an RPG such as ToV or A5e in 5e without seriously modifying it, then it's a variant.

D&D General What makes a TTRPG a "D&D Variant" to you?

When the TTRPG uses a particular D&D edition as its' chassis. They'll use the same game mechanics as that edition while introducing new material and/or fixes to problems that exist in that edition. Pathfinder 1st edition- 3.0e/3.5e Tales of the Valiant- 5e Level Up: A5e- 5e But more...
