WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

If it makes you feel any better. It's still humans who decide what is "better" and what is "slop". Self driving cars will be able to drive "better" than us, but it's still up to is to tell it where to go. Just be careful what you wish for. It can be "better" at driving itself off a cliff too.

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Yes. And if not today, than soon enough. And probably the most impactful. It can do it cheaper.

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

AI is a series of calculations. You could do it on a calculator. It would take millions of years to manually type it in, but you could. Heck. If you had time to wait for black holes to evaporate you could do with pen and paper. This isn't suddenly some new invention. We had AI detecting a...

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Just going to point out that spelling and grammer checker is a form of AI. So i am sure everyone already bought D&D products where AI was used. So we are already past the question of if, and are now onto the question of how much. Also, AI will get better.

D&D General How much do you care about rule change specifics?

The majority of responded statistically represents the majority of players. Have 1000 people taste 2 pies. If 80% of them like one pie over the other, then you can expect the majority of other people will as well. And the 20% that liked the other pie are going to make up the majority of the...

D&D General How much do you care about rule change specifics?

I like the majority of the changes. As did the majority of players via the survey. Classes are more balanced, martials have interesting things to do besides stand and attack, both in and out of combat. I'm tempted to go fighter 2 just for the skill boost. If you want me to be negative, I...

D&D General How much do you care about rule change specifics?

It is in human nature to complain about stuff you don't like, but barely say anything about stuff you do like. People don't go on forums to say they had a good session with the rules 9 times of 10. They go on the forums when that 1 out of 10. Or the 1 person who doesn't like it vs the 9 who...

    D&D 5E (2024) Reworking the 2024 Hiding rules

Attacking breaks stealth in all instances. Didn't think disadvantage for running would be so controversial.

Moving quickly / dash / running out of combat gives disadvantage on stealth checks. Reword it however you like.

D&D 5E (2024) Eye Tyrant. Who Died and Made You Gygax?? Design Your Own D&D 2024X3.

You can just pick a different class (i.e. multiclass) same as you can start at the bottom of a different tree. There is also the issue that most feat combination will be traps. So you just end up with an llusion of choice, and a lot of extra work to figure out all the combination.

    D&D 5E (2024) Reworking the 2024 Hiding rules

Don't see why dash isn't allowed outside combat. But the difference is sneaking 30' past a guard vs 60' past a guard with disadvantage. Lucky for me, it's my houserule so I don't need to worry about exact wording.

I guess I don't see much difference between feat trees and classes.

    D&D 5E (2024) Reworking the 2024 Hiding rules

Pathfinder 2e does this. Unaware: doesn't know Undetected: knows your somewhere Hidden: knows your square Observed: can clearly see you. But that's adds complications. Especially if you have 5 creatures each with different awareness of 5 other creatures = 50 different states to track. The...

Have to play with the math but.. Remove to-hit rolls, and thus AC Use ability scores, remove modifiers Anyone can cast spells. Caster are just better. So something like 1d20+weapon - armor. And if the d20 is higher than their Str, then you push or other effects.

    D&D 5E (2024) Reworking the 2024 Hiding rules

IMO The condition ends on you immediately after any of the following occurs: you make a sound louder than a whisper, an enemy finds you with a Search action, you make an attack roll, you cast a spell with a Verbal component, or end your turn without out cover. If you take the Dash action, you...

    D&D 5E (2024) What are your 2024 houserules?

That's his point. Barbarian's reckless attack giving a penalty. Fall prone every turn just to protect from ranged attacks, and does not give extra penalty from melee.

    D&D 5E (2024) What are your 2024 houserules?

I did some calculations. Twice allows for Bladesingers and Moon druids to get their 2 attacks, but not Eldritch Blast spamming. It's short range, concentration, takes an action, single target, with nothing on a miss. You need 3 actions (including castings) for it to surpass Finger of Death...

It was both. Dragonborn got +1 when Bloodied Tieflings got +1 against Bloodied Shifters had... something activate when Bloodied (May have been a feats) And there was several magic item that gave bonus when Bloodied. I played a Avenger of the Raven Queen who took all the bonus when Bloodied...

    D&D 5E (2024) 13 Attacks a Round the Most You Can Get?

I think tightly packing 1000 enemies in range of an area of attack is the part that's far from universal. Not just D&D, or TTRPG, but any game at all. Or real life for that matter.

    D&D 5E (2024) What are your 2024 houserules?

Yes. There where already a few in 2014, but they just spelled it out as "half you maximum hit points". I.e. 2014 life cleric.. This feature can restore a creature to no more than half of its hit point maximum. Vs 2024 life cleric Choose Bloodied creatures within 30 feet Yes. Though it's...
