It is a five minute activity in PF2E. I am not sure where the confusion on the healing rules are coming from. In-game can take longer, as healing has some mechanical impact in terms of how often you can treat wounds and such, but in terms of play time it's a five minute activity.

I just grabbed it! It's a steal, really. But most importantly....telling my players about it. There is now an actual chance I can get them to play now that they can get the PDFs for a reasonable cost.

I play those retroclones, too. They most definitely do not prohibit you from playing the game as you wish. Independent of the real world, ime no one has played D&D "straight" with intrinsically evil races as a constant for decades. The game written to accommodate making your own world as morally and culturally diverse for the many species within is a good thing.
