    simultaneous triggers

what happens with simultaneous triggers? For example, if two powers trigger when someone reaches 0 hp, which one goes first?

Aside from Expertise, what are the most commonly acknowledged feat-tax feats?

This is the impasse to the debate on the existence of feat-tax (aside from the usual sniping and disagreement on the parameters to math it out). Even if the designs intent were so, and the execution flawless, it would still not be true. Is a +1 to necrotic damage going to be useful to a...

    Stun is Fun

Interesting takes, all. Regarding the mathematical analysis; in merely the attempt to define a system of measuring (value of individual pc's attack being a factor etc) I think it is demonstrated that some strategic depth must be added by what I'll call the most dangerous (to fun) effect...

KD; my remarks to now have been some-what insulting, I regret straining my forum conduct.

Aside from Expertise, what are the most commonly acknowledged feat-tax feats?

Yeah, they're crappier in general. But a few appear as good or better than the lamer heroic tier feats. From a brief looky-lou in the cb: once per day initiative re-roll takes four failed death saves to die +1 saves vs daze, immobilize, stun, restrained Not super mega crappy. "+1 to...

    Assassin Mechanics Questions

I agree with you, but sympathize with the other dm's (I have an assassin in one of my campaigns too). Perhaps a home-brewed magic item slot-taker-upper, or weapon, that provided the benefit of the feat would be a good halfway point.

Aside from Expertise, what are the most commonly acknowledged feat-tax feats?

True, the issue being that +1/2/3 is so good you "have" to take it - and the problem with that being you no longer have a choice, and suspiciously looking like a shoe horned in math fix to boot. This is the logic behind the feat tax concept; since you "have" to pick expertise, you now have one...

Aside from Expertise, what are the most commonly acknowledged feat-tax feats?

Meh, I've heard people also complain that the backgrounds are a "free feat". So they cancel each other out, in my books (not that I agree with either sentiment).

Pathfinder 1E Is PAIZO becoming the next Wizards?

200lbs is a relatively scrawny gorilla... (not that it couldn't rip off your arms and beat you to death)

Thanks... I was tripping out for a second thinking "what? I thought it was the other way around?"

Rope trick and bag of holding? What to do?!?

This reminds me of a particularly nasty trap in an old dungeon magazine; some wacky wizard enlarged a bag of holding to fit over the exit of a protruding crawlspace the pc's are likely to snurfle through - if the guy on point had a bag of holding (who doesn't?) then - POOF - no save, nothing...

At what point do players know they're fighting Minions?

Well, the debate seems to have shifted to what the *default* way to handle minions is best, and how much/often/when to stray into other options. The irony of course is that no one using any style has claimed their players were ever confused as to which monsters were minions.

    Stun is Fun

Again, our perspectives have a huge fault line between them: You consider the turn used to give a save as 100% wasted. You are saying that if your pal makes his save and comes back on-line, he now has to do his turn and make up for your "wasted turn". I consider all three parts of the turn...

    Stun is Fun

3 failed saves from several different monsters will see you skipping all the turns for the rest of your life. It is diminished, though I can understand why you would consider it not diminished significantly. Tis a minor quibble. I'm not saying that you find stun fun, I'm saying that as a...

    Stun is Fun

Interesting point, there is a little too much glee when my players are "forced" to attack one-another. Many effects should be measured carefully before being dropped into the soup of a given campaign, dominate among them. Though I would agree stun is the one to keep an eye on as it is among...

    Stun is Fun

This is the difference maker between our perspectives; you believe moving to an ally, making a heal check, and then letting them make a pretty serious saving throw is the equivalent of skipping your own turn. When you miss an attack is that the same as being stunned? At least when "missing" a...

    Stun is Fun

When you miss with a daily or encounter you end up further behind the ball then if you had helped your ally, even if he ends up missing his save. Consider this; you go and have a turn rescuing your pal, he makes it, he goes. You end up with 1 turn for you, 1 turn for your buddy. If you fail...
