    The New Red-Box...

That´s really awesome. :) And this thread needs more awesome, badly.

How much do you suppose it costs to develop and maintain DDI?

God, you mean that DDI is just an experiment, and yet they were able to create the most awesome tools for roleplaying ever? And 5e will be fully computer-supported? I´m beginning to salivate heavily. Even if running 4e without DDI is pretty easy.

    Dark Sun Preparation?

There are simply a lot of cool things to steal from the PP. The Pristine Tower as a kind of "mutation battery", responsible for all those new races coming out of the desert. The Scourge, with all it´s powers and drawbacks ("what do you mean, my supersword doesn´t harm this sorcerer king?!"). The...

    The New Red-Box...

What he said. I´d really wish, though, that Wotc could counter "it worked in the past!" arguments with building a time machine and saying "yeah, then we´ll be SELLING IT IN THE PAST!" Which would be awesome. And i admit it: listening to old ideas to sell stuff to new people is anathema to me...

    The New Red-Box...

What? Excuse me? I think, and perhaps i´m talking out of my armpit here, that this boxed set has been designed for the market that currently exists. Just like most old-school products are designed because out there are people who like certain things. Creating a boxed set in a certain way just...

    Dark Sun Preparation?

The Prism Pentad is awesome if you want to a) see an example how high-powered NPCs fight for the future of Athas and b) want to get a feel for the world and c) want to dive into the history of the world without reading a lot of supplements If you feel that novel stories should be canon for the...

What defines the "edition war" and why are participants / moderators opposed to them?

Most edition war posts are not about loving or hating a game. They try to redefine reality. Look at Ariostos post above, because it is the best example. In this post he has used your OP to shovel deep pits between both different editions and different D&D-playing groups AND labeled these pits as...

Are people still mad about . . .

Stealing, uh, i mean, including rules that other RPGs on the market used when they were still absent in D&D. Compare some stuff in Earthdawn, forex, which parses over to 4e pretty well (healing is based on the character, not on healers / self-contained talents for all classes / choose from...

    The New Red-Box...

The reason they didn´t do it was that you sell stuff first to your established market, and then you pull in newbies. Not the other way round. A year of beginner products would have turned off A LOT of fans. And level 1-2 reduces the wall of powers significantly. Good decision. This box has to...

What do you like about 4E? (not a battle in the Edition Wars :^) )

1000 times this. Readability is NOT optional in RPGs, it´s essential.

Are people still mad about . . .

People who hate 4e say that 4e is for people who hate D&D, and that it isn´t D&D. It is like a rollercoaster of hate, or like that Star Trek:TnG-episode where they are trapped in a temporal loop. Raise shields, Data! Anyway, i´m still disappointed that i wasn´t disappointed by anything. I...

Any Dark Sun info from DDXP yet?

Can "crystal" mean that stuff which Thri-Kreen produce by spitting out stuff and molding it into weapons, tools etc? Gah, my memory! *Scans his Onenote notes* AH! Here it is: Dasl - a crystal-like substance. I quote the Wiki: Dasl is a crystal created by the thri-kreen and most commonly used...

Any Dark Sun info from DDXP yet?

Indeed, let´s return to the thread subject you diverted us from. It can be tough having people disagree with you on the internet. Better fork a thread next time.

What kind of hit did DDI take a year after subscriptions started? Was it huge?

It´s even better: it´s predictable money. Best money in the business world.

What kind of hit did DDI take a year after subscriptions started? Was it huge?

If i had to, because of any reason, unsubscribe, i think i would stop DMing D&D entirely. It would be like going mountain climbing without shoes. Seriously, this is what i dreamt about when somebody said etools to me back then.

    Thoughts On Level Limits?

I´m pretty sure that multiclassing as a Demi is still awesome without level limits. I think what you mean is that level limits make playing a single classed Demi suck in the future, but if that is the right incentive to encourage multiclassing... If i wanted a totally invasive rule to encourage...

    DDXP 2010 News and Updates

It´s good that there are no concerns like this when nobody buys any boosters (cue 20-page-forked-thread about "the very existence of these boosters pressures the DM to allow them!11!").

    Pathfinder 1E Opinions on Pathfinder

Please don´t do that. This is how those internet rumors get started. Either quote the cases you´re talking about or don´t say stuff like that. This thread is bad enough with all its "haah, you belive in stuff that has been proven by scientists to be silly!!!1!" and "don´t listen to that poster...

    scoop: 4e gamma world

Radom packs for mutations and stuff makes sense, but i think i´ll just use the core ones and create the others myself. No need to collect anything. But i admit, the hater party about "CCG Gammaworld" and "Gammaworld: the Gathering" is tasty, tasty stuff on the Interwebs. I needed a new fix for...

Got D&D Insider; Don't need books

The nWod has continuing hints about a new online model, although nobody knows for what. I think some designers said on RPG.net that it´ll be mainly about electronic publishing for adventures and non-essential books. And nWod NEEDS a database with all stuff. Badly. The organization is horrible...
