Fighting with huge packs seems like it would be a pain. And if you've got anything you want in combat packed in your backpack, it'd be at least a full action, maybe 2 to get it out. Now is that fun? Maybe for some groups. I'm on the fence. Not for heroic exploration and encounters like D&D. But...
