So they've said, but when they revealed their 2023 releases, I didn't see any new settings. Maybe they are waiting until the release of the new core books.

Still based on something else, i.e. Critical Role. I like Wildemount and pretty much all the settings they've released, but none of it was created without some kind of prior development. I'd like to see what the team can do when creating something completely original.

Wild Beyond the Witchlight and Journey to the Radiant Citadels seemed like risks to me. But I agree about creating a new setting. I would love to see a brand new original setting just for 5e, much like Eberron was for 3e.
