    Dragons are kinda boring...

Heh heh. My players get to find out just how nasty this Sunday.

Does anyone actually need the DMG?

Heh heh. This is SO true. As a generally "simulationist" DM, I should point out that I LOVE the 4E DMG. It's the only one I've ever read through from cover to cover. Maybe it doesn't have the same information density as earlier editions, but at least it's readable. Sure a lot of it is...

    D&D 4E 4E Item price parity.

The character is such a boor that everyone in the village is constantly trying to get him to 'adventure' in the hopes that he'll get himself killed?

Ironeyes the Bloodlock, or, Dwarf warlock/wizard is scary

Looks like it's something you get in addition to the normal benefits of a second wind. The RAW in the section on forced movement specifically state that it does not provoke "Opportunity Actions." Opportunity Actions are simply those you may take in response to the actions of combatants and you...

What I absolutely love about 4th edition thus far

Yeah, i'm not so sure that the new edition is quite this easy to modify.

    It's interesting to see...

*ding ding* We have a winner!! See, they DO listen on occasion. You just have to scream VERY loudly.

    GSL news.

No to mention that there's enough information floating around in the aether for most interested parties to gin up the skeleton of a product and then fill in the little fiddly bits when they get access to the core books and the SRD.

    GSL news.

    Silly conspiracy theorists.

To all the other "simulationists" out there...

So, the following responses are probably in one of the replies in this thread, but I'm gonna chime in without bothering to read because . . . well . . . no one else does it anway. First, If he wants to be a "silent blade in the night with a one shot kill ability, sounds like he needs to take...

D&D is dying by the hour

What's got them to start disliking Paizo?

    Did anyone else notice...

Heh. That's a good idea. I've already introduced Crimson Madder into my game.

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo Annoucement!

I'm with Ari on this one.

    Did anyone else notice...

Right. But now we're straddling the line between chemically and biochemically active here. (*sigh* More simulationist clomping nerdism, I know ;) A poison usually directly attacks a specific metabolic process or cellular structure. If all you wanted to do was dissolve flesh or bone, there's any...

    Did anyone else notice...

Ehh. I don't mind this. I've always assumed that zombies and skeletons (and anything that's unintelligent really) are reasonably battleminded, even if they don't think per se. Basically, they know how to fight and that's about it.

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo Annoucement!

Right. I think we're actually on the same page here. Marketing speak drives me batty. Though, good marketing speech doesn't need to be free of content. But yeah. They're not publishing under 4E because they don't want to. Not because they have no choice.

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo Annoucement!

Well sure. It's entirely possible that's a big part of this. But, I suspect not. Or, if that's why, they're taking a huge risk. Besides, wouldn't they have announced Pathfinder RPS right after losing the license in that case?
  17. helium3

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo Annoucement!

Well, the major difference is that the 4E designers actually know the in's and out's of their new product and perhaps honestly believe it's better. Another major difference is that they were pimping their own product, not taking potshots at the soon-to-be-released product of a competitor. Not...

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo Annoucement!

You're right. There really isn't a problem here, in the sense that business is business. And why does there have to be a problem? The RPG industry is absolutely fascinating and I just like to discuss it. The only actual problem I had was with the denials about the content of Lisa' letter to...

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo Annoucement!

Correct. Use of the word "suck" was unnecessary hyperbole on my part. I apologize.

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo Annoucement!

See, this is such a better way of stating your opinion than just making blanket statements about how stupid powergamers are. I'm far more comfortable keeping company with folks that make rational arguments for their preference, rather than just putting people down. I'm still not sure what my...
