    High Magic Wizardry novels?

David Gemmell's Drenai series and Sipstrassi Tales series have a pretty high magic level- although they generally don't have wizard protagonists. L.E Modesit Jnr.'s books also have a lot of magic- usually they do have magic-using protagonists.

    Bloodthirsty PC's

Agreed- this is brought up in BoED- a world might be a cruel world- but that doesn't mean good people aren't required to adhere to the same standard. If "humans tend toward no alignment, not even neutral" as per PHB, then it is possible that in the medieval-ish world, as much as a third of the...

    Alignment shifting

I see the Corruption system as more about telling whether a person will go to Baator or become a Hellbred, than about tracking alignment. E.G. a person who drifts from LE to LN, but is still Corruption 9+, and hasn't ever repented their past acts or tried to atone, goes to Baator. A person...

    Alignment shifting

I think that's intentional- since if you are Lawful and have a Corruption of 9 or higher, you (if not repentant) go to Baator regardless of your actual alignment and other deeds in life. If there was a counterpart for Good (maybe for Celestia?) then a LN person might "go to Baator regardless...

    Monster Manual 2 question

MM2 fixed solo monsters a bit- reducing their hit points. I'm not sure, but I think it may have began to bump up damage on monsters as well, a bit like MM3.

    D&D Adventure Tropes

Doesn't the "green, regenerating troll that needs fire to kill it" originally date from Poul Anderson's Three Hearts and Three Lions?

    D&D Adventure Tropes

Demons vs Devils Rust Monsters These are two things that make me think more of D&D than other settings. While some things (beholders, mind flayers) have been done, under different names, by other authors/games (possibly inspired by D&D) these two don't tend to be used.

    OotS 0741

I posted the link yesterday- but for some reason after merging the two OOTS 0740 threads, they then merged the OOTS 0741 thread as well. It does look like Roy will end up fighting somebody.

There are two OOTS 0740 threads up at the moment- should they be merged?

    The Jabberwock

Maybe a 4E version could have an attack or two that fit with the lines. For example "Claws that Catch" - if it hits, target takes damage and is grabbed.

Ideas for parties with diverse religious leanings

Given how that there are some Evil characters devoted to good deities in Eberron, typically believing that the ends justify the means, and blind to their own corruption (Cardinal Krozen springs to mind)- then a Good (or near-good) character devoted to an Evil deity doesn't seem so implausible...

Demonomicon, ToH, Orcs of Stonefang Pass and Vor Rukoth in hand

Faerun seems to give some entities different backstories. Asmodeus gets "ancient deity turned archdevil" and his re-ascension to deityhood occurs in the Spellplague. Bazim-Gorag gets "batrachi-turned primordial" (Whereas The Plane Below calls him a slaad lord, and makes a distinction...

Demonomicon, ToH, Orcs of Stonefang Pass and Vor Rukoth in hand

Hows that? The closest thing I can think of is the obyriths- who, as described in Demonomicon, are beings of evil incarnate, created the demons via the shard of absolute evil, and created the devils via corrupting Asmodeus. Which left me wondering- how does "Asmodeus was cast from his...
