I did plan on this, but thanks for the suggestion. I should have included that this would be only for the first session of the campaign, after that we proceed normally. If I go ahead with the idea I will definitely post how it went in here. We won't be starting the campaign until about July 1.

Let me preface this by saying I may have been watching too much TV of late, and LOST in particular. But, I was trying to think of some non-standard ways to kick off my upcoming 4e campaign. I haven't DMed in a couple of years and I want this to be memorable because of my return to the DM chair...

I have to agree with the all or nothig camp. I also like to use a nighttime rest interrupting encounter early on when the group is low on resources to see who are the diehards players or characters.

I don't remember anyone else climbing out on this limb, so I am gonna claim to be the first. I am betting that everyone will get to choose a number of skills from the non-class list equal to their int bonus. I just can't see a 1st level warlord with only 4 trained skills. This may help to...

Actually that is a trollish misrepresentation of what he said. What he was sayign is that maybe you're playing the wrong game. And, I might add, if 3.xe is so hunky dory with you, whay are you wasting everyone's time (including your own) on here arguing?

But please keep in mind it is being dumped in there by a bunch of people who are trying to answer you and Derrens questions of why the holes exist in the leaked info without having any more info than you do. We just don't believe as you do that because EVERY single tidbit of info is not leaked...
