    New 4E ad causing problems

I'm excited that the site is getting an infusion of money. That said, the HTML implementation as an entire layout column is really unfortunate. The readability of the site suffers in a way that makes the ad itself look bad.

D&D 4E Any word on spell components for 4E?

In my Gurps days, I remember tracking every match-stick. I had a lot of fun with it, and made the players feel the agony of the cold rain, with only half a day's food and 2 days to walk.

    D&DI - Lead Developer needed.

Too true. Once you've derived from one base class, you're good to go. Yeah, that was the work of Owen Bautenaur, legendary Human Resources guru. ;) To play devil's advocate (FOR HR?!?! SHOOT ME!!!) it's always better to overstate. When I read "Must know X, Y, Z. Good to know 1, 2, 3", I...

D&D 4E Any word on spell components for 4E?

Just another rude comment that can be fixed by actually reading my post? ;) As I said, I wasn't trying to start a debate or insinuate anything about anyone's play style. I just was asking for a hand wave if you played RAW, and, as has been pointed out, the RAW say to hand wave it (for the...

D&D 4E Any word on spell components for 4E?

Would somebody who uses the RAW for spell components please raise your hand? Please don't think I'm looking to start any sort of debate. I seriously have wondered if there was no larger than 2-5% of the d&d population. There must have been an ENWorld poll on this topic at some point.

    D&D 4E The Great d20 Books that shaped 4E

as already mentioned, Iron Heroes. this was the first d&d experience as a DM in many many years (since childhood) that my default answer to player's attempted actions that my answer was almost always "yes! and this is how!" instead of "hmmmm... that might break something... i'm going to have to...

My Iron Heroes/Wilderlands campaign story map

Thanks! Only certain players are going to read anything that I (or other players) write, but I think that everybody will check this out. "Casting" the NPCs was a lot of fun too.

My Iron Heroes/Wilderlands campaign story map

I've been working on starting up an internet-based extension of a campaign that I left hanging when I moved from the west coast to nyc a year ago. This story-map (a work in progress) has been fun to put together, and I thought I'd share. There aren't really any "spoilers" as such in the image...

What is "SVG Viewer 3.02 for Netscape"?

Grrr... I finally gave up and just let it SVG Viewer, and then it started prompting me to run the Quicktime Player, and then it started prompting me to allow a "Media Shim(?)". This totally flies in the face of how I like to use my browser, in that a website has dictated by constant annoyance...

    Anybody remember the "Warlock" supplement?

Grodog, thanks for that link. My countless googlings have been fruitless, but this is indeed the book that was at the table: Great blast from the past. Thank you.

    Anybody remember the "Warlock" supplement?

A modern gaming philosophy deconstruction may render the work pitiable, but I can tell you that the fun that we had "in the day" has rippled across the many years and still serves to set the bar for what I want to evoke in my game. I can't say for certain which elements of that book were...

    Anybody remember the "Warlock" supplement?

When I was a boy playing d&d in the late 70s, the group of college kids I played with used a supplement called "Warlock". I can't find any references to it on the net. Anybody remember this? The cover had a dragon reared up and a wizard (err... warlock) on a rocky pinnacle near the dragon's head.

What is "SVG Viewer 3.02 for Netscape"?

Every page on this site causes my browser (IE 7) to go "plink!" (sound effect) and present me with a warning "This website wants to run the following add-on: 'SVG Viewer 3.02 for Netscape' from 'Adobe Systems Inc.'..." Why does a Netscape viewer want to run for my IE browser? I don't want to...

Does anyone have Dungeon Tiles II yet?

I agree. Amazing tiles, but a few practical problems. Doors that are designed to join two areas without the "little hallway" effect that you mention would be nice. Also, everything is assumed to be "even-numbered" in size (2x2, 4x2, 8x4). It would be nice to have some basic 5' corridors, as well...

MASS COMBAT: Cry Havoc vs Heroes of Battle

Wrong link? The title of that thread is "Comparison: Strongholds & Dynasties - Empire - Magical Medieval Society - Birthright". I am somebody that's interested in Mass Combat rules criticism as well, and was hoping that would be the topic you were linking to.
