[Scarred lands] Paging Midnight! Obscure SL Help Needed

I can't remember where it was I read it (The Divine and the Defeated?), but it seems like there was a specific location mentioned where she entered the earth. I believe it was somewhere in the Ganjus, and I believe that the location is now a sacred grove.

    Using cards in your game?

In my Iron Heroes campaign, I had a lot of fun with props! We used nice pro-quality poker chips for hit points, reserve points, and non-lethal damage, as well as for the Iron Heroes tokens. This made it very convenient for the party to glance around the table and see who was really hurt (and...

    Scarred Lands: Ask the Sage.

Hey man... sorry to have offended. I was only talking about myself. I'm not a sage, self-appointed or otherwise. I'm just a guy who enjoyed the Scarred Lands books and saw a question that I had an opinion on, and posted up. I notice now that you entitled this Thread "Scarred Lands: Ask the...

    Scarred Lands: Ask the Sage.

The question was: I think Denev easily qualifies. Just my opinion. I'm not a self-appointed sage of anything; I just enjoyed reading the books.

    Scarred Lands: Ask the Sage.

Yeah. Denev. That was my first thought as well. She slumbers for now, but should she awaken... watch out!

Totally Obscure Game of the Day

Flux is fun, but I think you've got the percents backwards. It's more like watching a game than playing one, especially with more than 3 players. Not quite completely random, but I'd say at least 90%. I still like to play if I'm in a beer-and-pretzel gaming mood. There tends to be laughter...

It's happening again!: DTRRPG.com is selling WotC books!

Same here. I was considering picking up a few of these for my collection, but I really felt burned the one time I bought a DRM pdf. I bumped into a series of technical problems that prevented me from looking at my own books! For my own protection, of course... I have been buying watermarked...

    Mother of all Treasure Tables

Wow! That looks great. Will it be available as a PDF for copy'n'paste into my notes? Will it be illustrated?

    d20: Bard's Gate, I have it

Excellent! That man's work alone will make me consider a project.

New WotC Advert: FREAKS HERE'S YOUR FLAG

If anything, it's a sign that you're too young. The "Freak Flag" was flown originally in the 1960s.

    Wilderlands too old?

Crossposted to Judges Guild For some very positive words about what makes the setting work, read the replies to this exact question to the regulars in the Wilderlands forum: http://p096.ezboard.com/fnecromancergamesfrm42.showMessage?topicID=191.topic

    Wilderlands too old?

Not quite... 5-10 hexes per column is probably fairly accurate. Which is actually a perfect granularity. You want to have some "breathing room" to stitch the various creatures and peoples together, or be able to plop down a key settlement/ruin/dungeon from the module you happen to be running...

    Wilderlands too old?

Perfect for me I started playing d&d in 1979 when I was 8 years old, playing with some college-kids (friends of my mom). It wasn't until years later that I realized that it was the Wilderlands campaign setting (home-brewed and stitched against many other sources, as were all campaigns). I...

Where you at? Add yourself to the EN World map

First pin in Portland, Oregon! It looks like the servers are hiccupping up and down at this point. I think their site is more popular than they had anticipated.

Where you at? Add yourself to the EN World map

Doesn't work for me either. I tried Firefox, and then IE. It's a server thing at this point. Not having seen the page or knowing anything about their server capacity, I wonder if the ENWorld deluge caught them off guard.

Wilderlands of High Fantasy: Sucky Maps

I have almost all of the original maps. Yes, they are beautiful, and very sturdy. I also have concerns about the "survivability" of the maps as provided in the box. My Altanis map was already torn at the center fold, and I have only "used" the map for a week. I highly recommend picking up the...

    Fantasy Basketball the RPG

This is great stuff! I'd almost rather implement such a system as guidelines for utilizing existing Skills, rather than feats. This way, player characters could take part in a competition without dedicating an entire Feat slot to such a narrow (relatively) focus. Intimidate would feed...

Sword and Sorcery has been done to death.

I'll be starting a Wilderlands campaign soon, using the Codes of Honor from Conan, and the Iron Heroes alternate player's handbook. It's shaping up to be about as S&S as it gets.

Admit it. Who else did this?

Are you talking about the Steve Jackson "Sorcery" choose-your-own adventure books? Those were incredibly cool. As an aside, the Steve Jackson that did those books is not the same Steve Jackson of Steve Jackson Games. Both provided me with lots of gaming fun, but they are indeed different people.
