Where to go with my Warblade

Retraining is allowed, rebuilding is not :( Actually, I started with Wolf Fang Strike so I could get multiple attacks before BAB was high enough for iterative attacks, took the leaping dragon stance for the stance a Warblade gets at level four, Then because I had two Tiger Claw Maneuvers and met...

Where to go with my Warblade

OK, I am the first player in our campaign to try the Bo9S options. I am playing a Warblade/fighter/Master of Nine. I've been taking feats as needed to get into the MoN prestige class and maneuvers as dictated by the campaign, so I have sort of a hodge podge of maneuvers. As this campaign is...

Download True20 for free! (Free RPG Day)

It took about 10 minutes to get everything done at 2:00am on the 24th - so they seem to be extending it for a while at least. Can't wait to read through all this :)

PotC: At World's End (reactions, spoilers!)

This movie was very disappointing - I give it a 3. Overall, the only part I found entertaining was the action sequence at the end. I thought the interaction between Will & Elizabeth stunk. Elizabeth suddenly becoming a swashbuckling expert was annoying. The multiple Jack's were distracting...

AoO - Moving through friendly spaces

It is a round about way of saying it. :) If they were assuming no AoO because they thought the friendly creature provided cover it isn't a leap of logic at all. Oh as an aside its Abraxas, not Abraxes :D

AoO - Moving through friendly spaces

See page 147 of the PHB - "Friend: You can move through a square occupied by a friendly character, unless you are charging (page 154). When you move through a square occupied by a friendly character, that character doesn’t provide you with cover (see page 150)." The friendly character doesn't...

    Curses, Foiled Again!

I had a character who kept a -1 cursed sword because everytime he got into combat it would appear in his hand. He could never really be disarmed. As for Items I've put in In the AoW in Eberron campaign I am running the Mind Flayer in the Hall of Harsh reflections had cursed bracers - they...

Slowing Advancement and Other Arbitrary Restrictions

The group I DM for made it through the 1st 5 AoW adventures averaging 5 sessions to complete each one - however, we don't play that often, so its taken 16 months real time. If we could maintain a weekly playing schedule it would have only taken 6 months. Before that, In the Shackled City...

    Ranged Touch into melee

Honestly, I don't know if the DM would have ruled that way because I don't remember a single incident of a PC and opponent squaring off against one another in a 5-ft-wide corridor with ranged attacks and nothing in between them. I don't think he would have (I never claimed he was consistent) -...

    Ranged Touch into melee

I've played in games where the DM would rule that the mage in this illustration does have cover from the archer - because the line going straight up from the archer's square passes through the border of a square that provides cover.

    Ranged Touch into melee

That only applies to Low Obstacles - from the PHB: Low Obstacles and Cover: A low obstacle (such as a wall no higher than half your height) provides cover, but only to creatures within 30 feet (6 squares) of it. The attacker can ignore the cover if he’s closer to the obstacle than his target.

Do Magic Item "Shops" wreck the spirit of D&D?

In your experience...in my experience there was nothing the NPCs could do that the PCs couldn't try to do (or vice versa) - it was just that sometimes the cost of doing it was too high, or the attempt killed them. To the OP's question . . . The presence of magic shops where you can buy and...

Trying again: What would it take to get _you_ to use core only?

No incentives needed - and I own all those other shiny books - its not like I had any disincentive to play before they came out.

Spells that are annoying to DMs

Any touch attack spell Any spell that affects a spherical area (I should just change them all to cylinders) And recently - Ray of Enfeeblement (mostly because of the repetetive use of it)

How do you determine if a character is diseased?

That all fine and good until the low level character dies because he's had a stat drained and then the incubation period for the disease passes while he's struggling to get back to town and healed ;)

How do you determine if a character is diseased?

Are there rules for using the heal skill (or something else) to determine if a character has contratced a disease before the incubation period has elapsed and they suffer the initial effects? In a similar manner, are there rules for determining if a character has been inflicted with lycanthropy?

Dungeon Crawl Classics - like 'em?

I'm not terribly fond of them although they have some good parts. The group I game with has been run through a number of them. Some of the less than fun things (IMO) about these are 1) They foster a take 20 and search everything mentality, and I mean everything. 2) You pretty much have to have...

    BattleStar Galactica:Season 3.5--2/18/07--Arc 14

Its to bad they didn't have Starbuck's trademarked "rock and a piece of flight suit" patch kit in there with them - that would have plugged up the hole in a jiffy and lasted until they could figure out how to get them out without blasting off the doors. Of course that trick only works with...

    Drinking and gaming?

We always have beer on hand and at least one person having a few. Ours are definitely beer & pretzel games - I've actually never been at a game where no one was having a beer or two.
