WotC Check out Magic: the Gathering's Tiamat

I don't don't know how they're doing them this year, without the Core Set, but the most basic way to get into the game are Welcome Decks. These are two, thirty card, decks WotC gives out for free at game stores. They're ment to be played against each other to learn the game and then shuffled...

WotC Check out Magic: the Gathering's Tiamat

For me it was Kaladesh, I love artifact decks and tried to build a Colorless one a few times. Man I wish Wastes would get a proper reprint.

World of Darkness is also coming to TV!

Yeah, I've been meaning to give the 2E book a read for a while now. But, yeah, since it's CofD, Geist is a whole other bottle of Plasm.

World of Darkness is also coming to TV!

Mine's Geist: the Sin-Eater, because ' Undead PI whose clients are ghosts and whose partner is a SUPER ghost' writes itself.

News Digest for the Week of April 9

Yeah, if any non-evergreen mechanic was going to show up, it'd be Parties. But since this is effectively Core Set 2021 and those tend to keep things, well, basic...

D&D General Hidden Path Making 3rd Person Open World AAA D&D Video Game

Ooh. I'm curious as to how this will use D&D. Is it another Realms romp? Are they doing Eberron or Ravenloft this time? Hows the 5E system going to translate, if at all? Third or first person?

RPG Crowdfunding News – Coyote & Crow, Victorian Mage, DIESEL, and more

Wow, surprised to see WoD 20th getting more support. I thought everyone had pivoted to V5 by now. Speaking of, where's M5, y'all? Come on!

RPG Crowdfunding News – Twisted Taverns, Traveller, Everway, and more

Oh, I wish I could grab Twisted Taverns. I've been watching Runesmith's work ever since he spun himself out of XP to Level 3, so I KNOW that he can write amazing settings and characters. His 'Know Your Players: Problem Solver' video was one of those 'I'm in the post and I LOVE it' moments for me.

D&D General The Young Adventurers Guides Kick In The Door To Dungeons & Dragons For Kids (And Adults)

I've always been a proponent of Fate as the go-to 'My First RPG', especially Fate Accelerated. 1) It's cheap: ($5.00 USD for the physical book, PWYW for the PDF, $15 USD for the official dice set or $10 for a set of Bicycle D6s or FREE for Google's built-in digital roller, $12 for the official...

D&D General Dungeons & Dragons Animated Series: Requiem The Final Episode

Which is DISNEY oddly enough. Apparently, they scooped this up as part of the Marvel buyout and Hasbro just hasn't bothered to try and get it back.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dark Sun doesn't actually need Psionics

Ooh, brainwave. What if 'psionics as a super common ability' was treated like the dragonmarks? You get a few spells from the 'psionic spells' list and can play into it more with specific subclasses or a feat. No need to reinvent the wheel and everyone gets their secret mind powers.

D&D 5E (2014) The Scout Rogue - how did it work out?

I've been theory-crafting a Scout using the UA Tracker feat for a while. Seems like an obvious pairing, if you're going the Not-A-Ranger route. I'm thinking Wood Elf with Outlander, as well, but that may be a bit TOO obvious...

There shouldn't be any. The whole series is public domain, so unless you're obviously pulling from the movies, you should be fine.

WotC New M:tG set announced: "Adventures in the Forgotten Realms"

Yeah, Vi seems near BUILT for this crossover. An Eberron gnome with ties to Sigil, Waterdeep, AND Ravnica. Either Crawford is trying to push his own equivalent to Mordenkainen or she's been created specifically to be the Great Wheel's Planeswalker rep. Hell, or both, honestly.

Why Doesn't Star Wars Hold More Mind Share in the RPG Market?

I've never been the biggest fan of the films (my FATHER is... He even has an unironic love for Jar Jar) but the SETTING has interested me for some time, especially elements like the Grey Jedi. When it comes to the 'canon' of the series, I typically look at it like Disney expects people to look...
