Critical Role Reveals Soldiers' Table and Motivations

The Peter Pan aspects seem bigger to be honest.

Critical Role Campaign 4, Episode 2: Celestial Horrors and Powerful Houses Emerge as Potential Threats

Survived with quite a bit war trauma. If you're loose with the rules you can use death saves for other things than death that are just as bad.

What rpg system would you use for a 60+ session fantasy campaign?

Legend in the Mist or Daggerheart depending on if the focus is characters or a more combat heavy plot. Suddenly there's a lot of good options for fantasy games that isn't D20.

Critical Role's Campaign 4 Opens With a Funeral and Plenty of Intrigue

I really don't get the "predetermined story" vibes at all. Had this been decided in advance, they wouldn't have spend 4 hours on a wake and clearly the players didn't know what the others were bringing — the ones who did were probably at the same session zero and made some hooks. And...

D&D General People make amazing D&D Art

Critical Role Critical Role Campaign 4 Episode One +

Lots of setting information being thrown at you, and as someone who loved that part of Dragon Age with trying to see how things fit together with in-game fact and fiction, this campaign is off to a great start.

    — Brennan, can I have a strength 3 instead of 15? — Yeah sure. No matter how good I roll, I want one 8.

Is Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart?

Beacon is Vimeo. Youtube is Google. Sure, Twitch is Amazon but considering how twitchy it is many people are using the other two. (For Age of Umbra, Youtube had far more live viewers than twitch.)

Is Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart?

Having a cartoon on Prime doesn't mean you're automatically prioritizing them as a book distributor. They're probably using it for some countries hard to reach through more dependent channels, but Amazon has shown that they take preorders and then deliver new orders before fulfilling those...

Dungeons & Dragons to Release Lorwyn: First Light, a New Digital Expansion Based on Magic: The Gathering World

But even so, I would have bought a Lorwyn-Shadowmoor setting book even if I seldom DM D&D. I'm not going to buy a D&D Beyond add-on.

Dungeons & Dragons to Release Lorwyn: First Light, a New Digital Expansion Based on Magic: The Gathering World

I'm not going to comment on the folding MTG planes into Forgotten Realms because I am not the audience of Forgotten Realms at all. But if they're going back to doing the short digital releases of the MtG D&D stuff, I really wish they'd start doing to the Art of Magic books again. Those were great.

Fans of long series of big novels, sound off!

And there's a follow-up series too that I've yet to read but it's on the list for me. But yes, the world building and scope and all of that are things I love about these books. I really like how Steven Brust did with the Vlad Taltos books — they all fit together as a whole but they're also...

Critical Role Releases New Campaign 4 Trailer

Worse than that, AD&D 2e also had Aurora's Whole Realms Catalogue, an in-world Sears's catalogue for the Forgotten Realms.

Critical Role Releases New Campaign 4 Trailer

While I do agree that C3 was a bit jarring and awkward pacingwise and with the plot and characters not really meshing, I really don't think it's worse than any other published adventure path. In fact, had it been "prewritten" I bet it would have been a lot smoother than it was.

And in this case, it makes sense that the plates are saved. Because they might have split up the print run in order fit the print queue but normally that's not a problem with rpgs because they rarely sell out this fast. (Print queues in a Covid-world if weird and a problem, not only availability...

Critical Role Releases New Campaign 4 Trailer

Do you need Gods to feel happiness and hope and fun? I've managed pretty good so far. And I'd assume that if in a world where moral people killed gods, you can go pretty much anywhere. It says nothing about how everything suddenly becomes a dreary Dark Souls world just because the Umbra world...

Critical Role Releases New Campaign 4 Trailer

Didn't really care about C3 plot and it had pacing issues as well as it was clear players and GM were at odds about it. But I don't think anything CR has done has been as damn theatrical and dramatic as Vax in campaign one. Every interaction had an air of "this might be the dramatic scene!" I'm...

Is Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart?

If you want new books asap and not having to go through the whole pre-press process from start, using the old non-errata plates will speed things up remarkably. Then you only need a place in the print queue. Considering that they just added some of the errata into the PDF but haven't had time...
