I haven't changed the 3x version in my campaigns.
What I did like about the 1e version was that you could fork the bolt. Also, the bolt could richochet back at the caster if it hit something it couldn't punch through.
;)
Gee, a smile figure is too short in character to post on it's own. Now I'm typing some more just to make sure the wink above is posted.
BTW, I have to spread some more xps around.
Thanks,
Rich
Ok, visiting this site today and my page background is white, not black as I normally see it.
I've looked for where to change this back to black, but the technology is defeating me.
Anybody know where to change this?
Thanks,
Rich
Fireballs were even more fun in 1E. No dice cap and the spell effect filled a large volume of cubic feet. I saw a TPK once when the MU lobbed a fireball into a 10'x10'x10' room (caster thought the room was larger). The fireball blast volume ended up overflowing into corridor the pcs were in...
I'll bet you it was Mayfair Games' "Archmagic" from their Roleaids series. It was produced to be used with 1E and/or 2E. When you describe the paper as parchment that makes me think it was that boxed set as I remember it having better than TSR production value.
Agreeing with some of the other posts that I would probably quit too. DMing is a learned skill. He'll get better over time or run out of players.
Tried the dice rolling thing. I think this one died in a bar fight.
