The Jones cover looks like it should be for an OSE book or DCC or something. Very off brand for D&D. The Staples cover looks very generic. Like something you'd see on the side of a van in the 80's.

I splurged for the premium physical copies, but was also considering either Shadowdark or ACKS2 to run it. I've heard for Shadowdark you can pretty much run it as is.

Crown and Skull is one of those books where you absolutely need to get the physical copy. It's a work of art.

Backed Glumdark in a heartbeat. I was gonna use it along with my Shadowdark and Knave 2e books. But yeah, it's system neutral, so should be useful for any game.

Animated is the way to go. Something like Vox Machina or Twilight of the Gods. Honor Among Thieves had its fans, but was ultimately a flop financially. Another movie in that vein will not be profitable.

And yet it was one of their best settings IMO.

Same here. They seem a bit too generic. My favorites remain the Todd Lockwood dragons from 3.5e

The show likely thought it would be "cute" to turn the evil lich into a snail rather than destroy him with a much more flashy spell. That scene was supposed to be high tension, with people being killed left and right, and then BOOP, awww, look at the cute snail.
