    My girlfriend has a question....

It's a mythical creature only encountered in Greek legends. Or were that geek legends?^^

    Who's Hype for Dark Sun???

Well, unless you can post scans/pictures of the character cards... ;)

    Who's Hype for Dark Sun???

I'm stoked for Dark Sun right now, partially due to the Penny Arcade Dark Sun podcasts. I've read parts of the old box, looked at Brom's awesome artwork, and gotten that nostalgic feel again. :D Now I'm thinking, once DS is out and I'm running a campaign there, what kind of music is appropriate...

Well, for some strange reason I don't feel as sarcastic or even cynical as usual, which is why I was rather optimistic when I wrote that. ;) Are you referring to the Power Play: Shadow article from #386? It's somewhat niche (assassin/avenger), but I actually like it.

    D&D 4E 4E Book advice

Since you're a DDi subscriber I'd recommend "fluff-heavy" books: DMG2 Manual of the Planes The Plane Below The Plane Above Underdark Open Grave The Draconomicon books' fluff isn't that interesting to me personally; your mileage may vary. Also, I'd say they don't have that much fluff compared...

Looks good to me, there's something for players of every 4e setting (Hooray for Dark Sun stuff!), and assassins finally get some love. Sarcasm, methinks. :)

    Penny Arcade Podcast...Dark Sun #1

The characters are: Kris: Carl Two-Coins, Human Warlord (Skirmishing), Templar Mike: Mantis Eaglehawk, Half-Giant Fighter?, Gladiator Scott: Tuzul the Bloody-handed, Mul Monk, ? (Slave? Gladiator?) The summary from WotC's podcast page: "Submatron Galash of trading concern House Galash has...

What rule does your group ignore?

This. I'm the host, btw. (One time they even managed to show up earlier, to my complete surprise; they're usually late by half an hour at least.) Also, my DM lets us take actions after a charge.

Do you keep your Players' character sheets?

In our 4e groups the DM always has an up-to-date copy of the character sheets. Since we usually play at my place and I'm the guy who prints out all the cards and sheets, I also have copies.

    Kobold Love

You could have Shifty recharge when the kobold is bloodied for the first time in an encounter, either in addition to or instead of gaining combat advantage, or make it a feat.

    D&D 4E DM'ing 4E - Stuff "Everybody Knows"

I think TarionzCousin put parts of the title in quotation marks precisely for that reason; at least, that's how I've been reading it. Reminds me of my former DM during the 2e era. 4e requires a different mindset, so your DM needs to adjust accordingly, which can be difficult. Old habits die hard.

    D&D 4E DM'ing 4E - Stuff "Everybody Knows"

Don't position your minions too close to each other (so they'll survive a little longer against AoE attacks). Let the monsters use their "big guns" (encounter powers) early on in the fight. Encourage your players to use stunts (DMG page 42). I'd say they're annoying, but not necessarily too...

List all of your character names! *read the instructions*

Oh boy, I've forgotten most of them, but here we go: 2e Gallin of Moonshae, human, male Jaeson, human, male 4e Keyleth Aeneyasar, elf, male Torrin, human, male (I'm not including any of the 60+ unplayed 4e characters sitting on my hard drive. :))

    Let's read the entire run

It was basically just an index, though one of these (vol. 2, I think) also featured a sample magic shop owned by ultra-high-level spellcasters.

D&D 4E The still "complete" list of official 4E products, now with 2011!

There isn't enough player stuff to fill a separate 128-page Dark Sun Player's Guide, so it's included in the Campaign Guide.

    Nentir Vale book

Another option is that the Gazeteer collects all of the Nentir Vale info published to date, and instead of filling in the blanks, it adds possibilities in the form of adventure hooks and campaign arcs.
