Virtual Game Table and Published Adventures...

With any luck, there will be a way for 3rd party published adventures to be able to give a bundled version of it as well for the virtual tabletop. As I look at putting the Pathfinder books into OpenRPG, I'm hoping more and more. :)

    Races and Classes--I has it!

Glad I'm not the only one who thought of that. :)

Duergar: I'm shocked - a flavour change I really like!

And, of course, since PCs have the "talent" of being in the right place at the wrong time, they'd be there when the tainted dwarves reach the ancient evil beneath the earth...sounds like a great campaign. :)

    D&D 4E Death of Spells in 4E

Unless you've read something I've missed(after page 5 of most threads, I get tired of reading the same arguments on both sides), they didn't say (in information already 4 months out of date) that they were getting rid of necromancy. The poster was bemoaning the loss of save or die spells, which...

New Design & Development: Paladin Smites!

My one real problem with the power texts is its ONLY the mechanics. The descriptions of the powers really do make them or break them. But we don't have any. What we have so far is, basically, the upper part of a spell description(level, casting time, etc) + a summary of the effect. I'm just...

    Likely poison mechanics

If you change his statement from "on round x" to "by round x," however, it becomes correct again. The more rolls you make, the more likely it is that at least one of them succeed.

D&D 4E 3 months in and 7 to go - will YOU switch to 4e?

For us it's going to depend on when we finish the Age of Worms adventure path. We're doing that in 3.5, then switching over with a new campaign.

    Jonathan Tweet denounces Power Attack

Well, if you consider that the players know the monsters AC within 2 rounds of combat in most cases, I don't see that you knowing the ACs of the PCs (that are being attacked) is that much worse.

The Casual group and online pay content

THat's really going to be the key. Is it going to be that much better than the free/shareware products already out there? That's the iffy part to me.

There's Powerful Deviltry at Work Here...

You forgot the rogue as the band manager. :)

    Multi-classing- Rich Baker

My (current) take on multiclassing in 4e is going to be something like they did it in SWSE. When You pick up a second class, you get most, but not all of the abilities at first level. If abilities that are based on level are now going to be based on character level, not class level, then you...

A Technical Look at D&D Insider Applications

His point, though, remains. If he's not going to be using the electronic version, then if it's included in the cover price, then he's paying for something he'll never use and doesn't want but doesn't have any choice about.

    Inn-Fighting

This is so bogus! This is obviously indicating that Beholders will now be male and female, since the Barfly /has to be female/. Who ever heard of a male barfly? Geez, WotC is ruining the game! [Sorry, couldn't help it.] More seriously, this looks like a great game. I'm looking forward to...

    Design & Development: The Warlock

Interestingly, that strongly says controller, but a different type of controller than wizards are. The warlock is more about moving people around, and single target damage, while the wizard seems more about damaging multiple people, and moving 1 or 2 people around. If I'm not reading too much...

    Zombies! New Dungeoncraft article up

Maybe Ghouls will have more lurker-type abilities. Sneak around, jump out from hiding to hit the wizard in the back of shadows, paralyzing him and hauling him off to make a quick snack of back in the shadows. I know that's what my ghouls are going to be like, even if I have to redesign them...

It also sounds like touch attacks are gone. Changing to Reflex defense spells, perhaps?

The Great Wheel Cosmology as an "assumed part of a D&D world"

This is part of the reason I /like/ the changes. The old system was inherently ordered. Even Chaos was bound into that order. How does that even closely resembe balanced? In the new system, depending on how the Astral Sea is described, you can actually have the chaotic planes in the sheer...

    Design and Development: Cosmology

Sigil would work quite well as one of the realms floating in the Astral Sea. Which is one of the things that I like about it, it's quite expandable without having to wonder which of the 19 outer planes my idea has to fit into.
