Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

If they want to take a -2 to hit, sure. Ultroloths are Medium anyway (I think), and Mariliths should be using Large longswords.

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

First of all, I'm sorry; I forgot to mention that I really do like the format, and can't wait to see the finished Portfolios. I agree that Fighter levels are probably more appropriate, even if Sorcerer would be more powerful... what about Cleric, as sort of a compromise? As to his artifacts...

Even though Weapon Finesse can't be applied to the longswords that Mariliths and Ultroloths favor?

One question; why Earth? He seemed more the Destruction type to me, given his role in the Apocalypse (note that I disagree with your non-Lawful requirement on that Portfolio). Also, you didn't apply the effects of his Uncanny Weapon Focus.

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

I think the base Ultroloth needs to be rewritten before any unique versions of it are created. It should have been CR 20, like the balor and pit fiend.

Indeed; the standard rule is that any SLA, even wish, has no components, including XP components. Also, are you equating one XP to one point of Quintessence?

What can we expect from the update on Tuesday?

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

Indeed, which is why I assumed not. The Total one could be tricky to handle on the fly, but that applies to a lot of U_K's work.

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

True, but I know of at least one DM (Selah, at Dicefreaks) who rules it that way. Something that occurred to me, and I want to be sure of it one way or the other; the extra Strength from Legendary Strength does give additional VSCs, but that from Total or Infinite Strength does not, right?

First of all, I really like the new Portfolio abilities; them being so valuable actually makes sense now! No, see below. Not speed, but if you assume that the D&D statistic of strength does include what RL athletes refer to as "explosiveness," which is how quickly you can go from a standstill...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

Yo. Heh. That explains a lot. :p Nicely handled. Why would an ability not have weaker versions of itself as prerequisites? Even Epic Weapon Focus/Specialization were errata'd to require the Greater versions. I see. I think. So they're actually burning Quintessence with this ability...

Strength, virtual size categories, and house rules

So... without being denser, how is it possible for Medium creatures to have Strength in excess of 25 (base 18 + 2 racial + 5 level) without it going away in anti-magic/dead magic?

Strength, virtual size categories, and house rules

Maybe a feat that lets your Virtual Size Categories, instead of actual size, determine lifting ability?

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

I noticed something re-reading the Beastiary; Nimrod the Akalich can't get the full benefits of his Robe of the Almighty. The ability score boosts are morale bonuses, which are mind-affecting effects, which undead are immune to.

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

Spotted something else; "Improved Power Attack" is mixed in with the "Greater" feats. Alrighty. And I have two questions. First, if a character already has an ability similar to Greater Power Attack (which I assume is the correct name of the one I mentioned above), but it only applies to a...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

I notice you haven't cleared up the issues I suggested on DF with the Divine Feats, as you said you were going to. Greater Sunder and Superior Sunder are the same thing. Perfect Sunder is listed as both a feat and a divine ability. Superior Cleave's "Normal" line is wrong; normally you cannot...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

Not sure about the Ultimate Specialization. However, I do have a problem with Uncanny Specialization; it forces anyone who wants to apply the two higher abilities to a natural weapon to completely waste a Cosmic ability. Nah, they're fine as they are. It's already a chain, just without the...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

If you do run the play-by-post tournament, either here or at DF, Ltheb, I'd love to fill any open spots. :D Heh. Only in U_K's work could level 100 be considered "low epic."
