I think it was also the reason why they released the Rules Cyclopedia. Having everything you will ever need, in one hardcover book, was awesome. I just wish they had kept the artwork from Elmore and Easley.

Agreed; the Rules Cyclopedia is one of the best (and most complete) D&D rulebooks ever written. And I'm not just saying that because it's my favorite. :)
