All true. And I'll add that I've seen plenty of bad behavior from both the fans and the detractors. Let people like the stuff they like, sheesh.

I usually don't put any sauce on my steak. Prime Rib is the only exception; I like a bit of prepared horseradish with that particular cut of meat. Usually I'm content to enjoy steak with just salt, pepper, and its own drippings.

It's my lucky day! I get to have steak for dinner! I don't get to eat steak very often, for two reasons. First, beef steak is high in cholesterol, and I'm supposed to limit my intake of the stuff. And second, steak is expensive...especially when it's prepared by a chef in a high-end...

And even when you remember the metaphor, it's still a little weird. "I like pizza just fine, but I wish I didn't have to pick all of the bards off of it."

I'm not arguing against the popularity of pizza. I'm saying that ranting about pizza won't make cheeseburgers more popular.

I'll always maintain that the best way to convince someone to join you for a cheeseburger is to cook a cheeseburger for them... not complain constantly about their favorite pizza joint.

I have yet to see a town where pizza was the only food option. The most common option? Sure. The most popular option? Usually. The default option? Sometimes. The best-selling or most successful option? Without a doubt. But the only option? I've never seen it.

I hate pizza! I hate it so much that I can't stop talking about it. Everywhere I go, I mention it. I eat it every day, too, so that I never forget how bad it is. I hang out in pizza shops so that I can tell the customers how bad their food is. I sign my name with "I Hate Pizza" in quotes...

Only four, huh? For me: Gene Rodenberry, Lloyd Alexander, Hayao Miyazaki, and J.R.R. Tolkien. Or, in a pinch: just slap King Arthur, Sir Lancelot, Sir Robin, and Sir Bedevere from Monty Python and the Holy Grail on the mountainside and call it a day.
