    Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

It didn't remotely feel complete to me, but I understand what you're saying, and I presume that the show's creators feel the same as you do. Personally, it gave me the "Great Show; Weak Ending" feeling that is far, far too prevalent these days. I mean, it would have been just terrible if it...

    Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

My only issue with the show was that it didn't end. I wish shows would complete a single story by the end of their arc. It's not like there can't be plenty of loose ends left with which to launch another season, but they should never feel like they're totally incomplete. IMO, obviously.

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

I don't have a concern. I don't mind it being called Savage. I think there's a big difference between describing land and describing people that way. I was speaking of why WotC might choose to go a different way. They are rightly much more concerned about that sort of thing than I am.

    D&D 5E (2024) One Store's Sales (D&D 2014 & 2024)

Haw! I trust my gut. I'm very, very good at ordering (I have been told as much by folks with even more experience than I have, and that's a LOT). It's really hard to explain how. It's an arcane formula of preorders vs previous sales vs hype vs appeal. I can't quite explain it, but it's hard...

    D&D 5E (2024) One Store's Sales (D&D 2014 & 2024)

It's probably a little down, but I think we can say that a LOT of people are still coming to D&D. In droves. But I think that the newer Starters just aren't the massive deal of quality-and-quantity-for-buck that the OG 5e Starter Set was. Heroes of the Borderland, I think, is excellent when it...

(5.24 PBP) Vault Redux (OOC) Fitz's Refresher

Yeah, I don't think I quite understand the question. The extra five come in "full", and don't require healing, but I'm not sure anyone (or very many) PCs were doubled up on. I could be wrong.

(5.24 PBP) Vault Redux (OOC) Fitz's Refresher

No - it's just that everyone (NPCs and pets included) has +5 HP from their base HP.

(5.24 PBP) Vault Redux (OOC) Fitz's Refresher

I don't think anyone upcast it, so 5 HP for, I think everyone.

How do we read what things are?

    D&D 5E (2024) One Store's Sales (D&D 2014 & 2024)

Actually, it doesn't quite line up that way. I assume that our distributors (we sourced them from multiple places as the supplies dwindled) must have had quite a stack of the Starter Set when they went OOP, because I think we were able to still get them for about a year. And I think the...

D&D 5E (2024) Just Because a location is not on the Atlas of Faerun doesn't mean its gone.

Sure, but while a Canadian like myself is basically educated in geography and knows OF the Great Lakes, Canada is large enough that the nearest Great Lake is over three thousand kilometers (or around two thousand miles) from where I live! I'm more familiar with small towns in the UK, Islands...

(5.24 PBP) Vault of the Dracolich (IC) Redux

I would say that any advantage gained from murkiness would be lost due to the difficulty of movement, and the carrying of sound (though the spell obviously helps with those things, but that's its own +10). It's not the water itself, it's the flow - everything moves toward the north, except where...

D&D 5E (2024) Just Because a location is not on the Atlas of Faerun doesn't mean its gone.

I mean, it's probably from young (at the time, anyway) map-makers (Greenwood? One of his early players?) not understanding how essential geography works. I had to revise my Grade 10, 2e-era homebrew world maps when I achieved a better understanding of worlds. Another approach, which I might...

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

I think they can have Muls, Cannibal Halflings, and Desert Raiding Elves. They just need to adjust some of the worst elements of slave-breeding from some, if not all Muls, make sure that "Halflings Eat People" is some halflings, during times of food scarcity, and desert raiders being very...

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

WotC will probably avoid the word Savage due to its historical use as a slight against indigenous people, but that doesn't really change much. The world can still be a nightmare by another name. "Harsh", I think, is probably most descriptive.

    D&D 5E (2014) Building a Better Ankheg

I have it too, and I remember liking it, but I don't think that I've looked at it in quite some time - and I probably should!

D&D 5E (2024) Just Because a location is not on the Atlas of Faerun doesn't mean its gone.

Looking at it, I have two questions for those longer familiar with the setting than I (I only know it well from 5e, so I know the Sword Coast, but not much else). 1) The Sea of Fallen Stars appears to be landlocked. So is it a really big lake, or is it a salty sea? Any story behind that? 2) I...

She'd probably agree to that, but the only way out that you know of is through the Kobold Caves.

    D&D 5E (2014) Building a Better Ankheg

Let's ask some of our resident monster masters: @Nixlord, do you want to share an Ankheg from one of your books? @dave2008 have you made a properly designed solo version of an Ankheg? I know that I've run them in terrifying encounters, but I may have added to them on the fly.
