For those not in the know . . . Nimble is a 5E hack to make 5E more, well, nimble and quick. There are two versions, the original Nimble which is a book of alternate rules systems for 5E, and a newer version which is a separate game to itself.

Honestly, schools are way behind on this and other societal changes. Schools are conservative institutions, not politically so much as adapting to change. Teachers are not consistently given the resources, training, and time to identify, adapt to, and instruct students in how to effectively use...

Yes. Both to guns and the use of AI. How folks use the tools is problematic. So are the tools themselves, their easy availability, and the lack of controls on their use.

But are they learning how to write, or how to copy from ChatGPT? Are they learning how to research effectively? As a teacher . . . while generative AI may have it uses in the classroom, overall it is a bane to education and is contributing to the slide of American's knowledge and skill...

So, yes. "Performative" playtesting involving actual playtesting, surveying for feedback, and incorporating that feedback. Okay. Is WotC also using these opportunities for some marketing? Sure. Shrug.

Yup. I fail to see the problem with D&D Crochet. It's not bumping a game book off the schedule, and it's going to sell very well, in my expectation. But you know, we gotta complain about something!

They've been pretty upfront about that too. Although, they moved away from making each book an "event" after Rime of the Frost Maiden. It sounds like they plan to get back to that model with the decision to move D&D to a "franchise" model.

This is a problem within the Magic community also . . . the current pace of releases is intense, and many fans are feeling left behind. So far, this has been profitable for WotC, but a lot of folks feel like this is due to speculators buying up the cards hoping they will increase in value. D&D...

Because we don't want WotC to go under like TSR and for the D&D product line to die? And, as others have already pointed out . . . very few of us actually managed to collect all of that wonderful stuff from the 80s and 90s. We appreciate being able to keep up with the current release schedule.

4, 5, 6 . . . we can quibble over the exact number. But fewer, higher quality releases as opposed to more frequent, lower quality releases . . . seems to be working for WotC for the past decade.

While some of us might want more books that WotC currently puts out, and remember fondly the 80s and 90s firehose of content . . . much more than current levels would probably get WotC quickly to the point of diminishing returns . . . just like it did for TSR.

While my overall point isn't changing . . . I'm realizing I'm confusing Hasbro/WotC's video game studios with their movie studios.

Yes . . . but I was responding to frustration with WotC opening and closing game studios over the past few years. Hopefully this new studio will stick around for a while.
