In the 3.0 forgotten realms archamge... he take the power 3 times.. on different power levels and have them stacking. So for a cost of one level 5, one level 7 and one level 9 slot, the Archmage could get +6 Casterlevel.. Then there is the Red wizard that get it too wit hhis favored school...

Oh one more thing... "buff time".. well he would just cast his spells so they last for the day etc. = 0 buff time.. other than the 10 min it takes to cast in the morning while the rest of the party is getting up and eating breakfast...

Lets make an equation x*1.5 = y y = the new number x=The effect the spell normally would do, and as the spell does 1d4 +6.. x is the roll on the d4 +6 hence y isn't changing my max value... The max value for x = d4 + b (0<b<8) So b has a max, y doesn't....

You do not exced the cap by empowering it... its (1d4+6)x1.5 ... 1d4 is just as much a random number as 1d6+6 is... So the biggest advantage you would get is at level 24 where u meet the cap (8)... and it would be (1d4+8)x1.5 You never exced the cap in anyway... you just multiply your random...

Im pretty sure that they indeed can wear armor... as they've gained the proficiency from the cleric class, they just don't get further proficiency. Well u guys conviced me that he isn't overpowered at the low levels... what about epic levels... where you can keep taking it, as it is a 10 levels...
