ChatGPT lies then gaslights reporter with fake transcript

I can see two huge uses for AI in the future. AI companion programs that will prey on the lonely and further isolate people. Scamming old people.

ChatGPT lies then gaslights reporter with fake transcript

Huh? This is the opposite of what I'm talking about. The AI will translate the thing you want even if it's wrong, to make you happy. It will also tell you to leave your spouse so you can spend more time with it.

ChatGPT lies then gaslights reporter with fake transcript

A computer program can be programmed to value one thing over another. In the case of AI chats they are often programmed to make the user happy and there have been plenty of examples of AI telling lies that the user wants to hear.

Paul Thomas Anderson Movies: Ranked! (And discussion)

There was also a film called Reign over me in which he plays someone that's had a breakdown after losing their family in 9/11 and is obsessed with the video game Shadow of the Colossus. He's an interesting example of the difference a good director can make to an actors performance. The way PTA...

Paul Thomas Anderson Movies: Ranked! (And discussion)

I saw One Battle After Another yesterday and really enjoyed it. I'd say it's his best film since The Master. It's crazy to me that Paul Thomas Anderson has never won an Oscar.

    The Mandalorian & Grogu Trailer

Looks like fun, I can't wait to see a Star Wars movie on the big screen again. It's been too long.

D&D General Odd Speak with Dead Question

Maybe it would work if you upcast the spell? I like house-ruling upcasting effects. I do wonder what they plan to ask the door, like, the door doesn't have senses, so it wouldn't be able to tell you if anyone passed through here recently, or anything like that. IMO.

D&D General Forgotten Realms - why do you still like running games here? +

I always liked the Forgotten Realms Pantheon. So, there's that. The setting itself is varied enough that you can do anything you want. There's enough available lore/info that you could run a campaign without ever having to create a single town or NPC name on your own. Alternatively, there's...

Does Your Game Have Random Encounters?

I'll write down a bunch of random encounters when planning an adventure or a session, but then some will just be more interesting, or there might be a clear narrative where it would make sense to run them in a specific order. So, I'll end up not using them randomly during play.

    D&D General Self-Defeating Rules in D&D

Not what the thread is about, but I've made my own self defeating rules as a player (For roleplay purposes): A Barbarian that is trying to contain their rage A Warlock that tries not to use their powers out of fear of drawing their Patrons attention A Genasi Arcana Cleric that upon gaining...

D&D General The Player's Quantum Ogre: Warlock Pacts

In 5E24 we have 4 Patrons: Archfey, Celestial, Great Old One and Fiend. Personally, I don't see Archfey or Celestial being too demanding of their warlocks in terms of demanding sacrifice. I also don't see a Great Old One as interested in the affairs of mortals in any comprehensible way. Fiends...

D&D General The Player's Quantum Ogre: Warlock Pacts

I find I have seen the opposite issue more often compared to what most people are complaining about here. In my experience it's more that the DM treats the warlock like any other character and the player gets upset that the DM isn't writing more Patron based plot for them specifically. As a DM...
