I decided to come back here after 4 years of absence because of 4e, and I'm delighted with the coverage. I love EN World (in a completely platonic way ;) )

Here I am! After four years, I'm proud to say... BUMP!

There are as many angles as gamers... But I think it won't be a problem. Like 3e generated a bunch of great games (AU, Iron Heroes, C&C, Grim Tales...) for gamers with different angles, 4e will generate other satellite games for those gamers... I bet somebody will make something like C&C for...

I guess that the problem would be that we wouldn't agree what to put in that version, it seems to have as many definitions of how that revision should be done as gamers. Put two D&D fans in a room and you will get three different opinions... :D But that could be a good thing, we could have four...

I think it will be a very small change compared with change from 2e to 3e. Most of us did it, most of us were able to adapt, most of us loved 3e, so I guess we will be able to do it again and adopt 4e ;)

Hmmm, it makes sense! For low levels it seems good too : ftr2/wiz2/clc2 = martial 3/arcane 3/divine 3 ftr3/wiz3 = martial 4/arcane 4 not wildy unbalanced with single-class arcane 6, martial 6 or divine 6...

Oh, I know I'm weak. I will buy first printing, and then I will buy second printing too... :D

They have said that it uses heavily last version of DirectX, that puts it out of reach of wine... for the moment at least :( /me prays for wine guys and gals accelerate full DirectX support

That's very true, IMHO warforged need to be made more "standard D&D". I hope that Warforged fill be streamlined in 4e, less exceptions, less special rules...

Actually that's the only thing that I dislike about 4e, I won't be able to use DI :( If not, I fully agree with OP, they seem to have listened to players and DMs complains, 4e seem to be designed by gamers for gamers (I thought the same thing of 3e eight years ago :) ), and I like that !

A very good thing! Exalted is a great game (unless you really hate anime, and even then you can enjoy it if you don't look at the art or the names ;) ), so having one of its creators working on 4e can only be a good thing.

Hollowfaust is always a good pick, it's one of the best setting book for D&D (IMHO and YMMV, of course ;) ). And I think I will be using it in my 4e campaigns, as I've done with 3.0's and 3.5's ones. And yet, if Hollowfaust is one of those rare "points of light", the world would be really grim...

I hope so, as SAGA AoOs work rather well, way better than D&D. Or at least, players seem to understand more easily what provokes an AoO and what not.
