I think it comes down to empathy. It’s not as widespread as we seem to think. It seemingly ebbs and flows. Those with empathy ascend, do some good, then those without empathy ascend and tear it all down. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I think the problem is fairly obvious. The casuals and theater kids aren't causing balance problems because of the design. Exactly. Just because we’ve invented various patches or crutches to mitigate the problem doesn’t mean the problem never existed or has been fixed.

Quite the opposite. I’d vastly prefer to play 2E. But the majority wants whatever’s new and shiny. So if I want to actually play WFRP instead of just collect books that collect dust, I have to keep current.

Exactly. Use the right tool for the right job. It's not meant for hitting 1-2 big bags of hit points, it's meant for quickly clearing the room of minions...and it's amazing for that.

In a weird twist, Max from Tasting History with Max Miller also made Spätzle on his week's show. It's a side in his video and only gets a quick mention, but he shows off one of the other methods of making Spätzle, the grater. I should get one of those. Looks so much easier.

I absolutely love the setting. So far 2E is my favorite edition of WFRP. 4E is just way too crunchy for my tastes. Here's to hoping they've dialed that way back in the revision. If not, there's always The Old World RPG.
