    Heavy Metal Magazine is back!

So themes of sex AND violence. Plus some techno-alienation-sc fi-dystopia. Back in the day. Way back in the day, my few copies of heavy metal magazine were treasured items. Not like my D&D stuff, but up there.

Kelsey Dionne and Mike Mearls on Ben Riggs show Reading D&D aloud.

There is so much stuff out there. But there has been. The hypothesis is that now people are really starting to play it.

Kelsey Dionne and Mike Mearls on Ben Riggs show Reading D&D aloud.

The origins stuff was good. It meandered a bit, just a bit, but very good overall. Mearls continues to proclaim we are the very verge of some great indie RPG revival. I guess we will see.

D&D General The First Demise of TSR: Gygax's Folly

There was certainly malice, at least by some. See the "Castle Greyhawk" parody adventure.

D&D General The First Demise of TSR: Gygax's Folly

The story as I know it is that the Blume brothers almost bankrupted the company—at its peak—and Gygax came back to Lake Geneva to save it, releasing Unearthed Arcana and other products with his name on them. This and firing a bunch of people, some of whom would found other game companies. The...

D&D 5E (2014) According to the Hasbro Q1 earning call D&D sales are up substantially.

Some I interesting speculation up thread. As for the results. If releasing 3 big deluxe corebooks for the most popular edition in the game’s history did not lead to a spike in revenue it would be a disaster. So they have avoided disaster.

D&D Errata Nerfs Conjuring Spells, Makes Other Changes

Hence the reason we were wondering. I would still take the 5e approach over, say, 3e.

D&D Errata Nerfs Conjuring Spells, Makes Other Changes

In play we actually had the “wait, how does the grappler end the grapple?” come up. The grappler wanted to throw a pc off a ravine, which might still be an edge case, but at least it’s confirmed that the grappler can just end the grapple. So at least that is fixed.

What Brought You to EN World Today?

To hang out in the meta forum, obviously. (Also I have done the gamer seeking gamer thing, but not lately).

D&D General Which edition handled alignment best?

Alignment itself: 1e. The stuff (not) attached to it: probably 5e.

I may have posted too soon about coming off the peak.

    D&D 5E (2014) Rate Your 5E Rules Expertise

WHICH rules? There are now two different sets and they are not the same.

    D&D 5E (2024) The Ray Winninger Era of D&D 5e

I wouldn't blame all that on Ray Winninger.

Project Sigil 90% Of D&D’s Project Sigil Team Laid Off

So with 4e it was also a 3d tabletop (without as high a resolution as Sigil). They also planned something for 3e, which ended up as e-tools?

D&D General What Does New Coke Tell Us About Designing for D&D

It tells us that companies make mistakes? The makers of D&D have made many.

D&D 4E What AI thinks about 4th Edition

That’s excellent. As for scrapping ENWorld, I think that would have added a lot more references to WoW, the warlord, and an overall sense of vitriol.

    D&D 5E (2014) Mike Mearls 5E 2014 Monster Mods?

And speaking of 4e, this would be a minion.

D&D 5E (2024) Wargamer Takes Shot At WotC for Not Respecting Forgotten Realms Canon.

Is clicking on a thread like the one in OP and getting (anything focused on) the Purple Dragon Knight the new rickrolling? It sure feels like it.
