Will the complexity pendulum swing back?

Well, the GM for starters, but like I said it's generally not worth fighting over.

Will the complexity pendulum swing back?

Well, the Force is in all living things, M-count or not.

Will the complexity pendulum swing back?

If they really exist in the setting, sure. Can you give me an example?

D&D General What version of D&D are you playing?

Like I said, not different enough to be worth the money to me, or different in the wrong ways.

Will the complexity pendulum swing back?

I allow luck and inspiration mechanics (by which I mean mechanics explicitly designed to represent those things, not mechanics where they might be considered a factor) because my players want them and it's not worth the fight. I don't particularly care for them personally.

D&D General Weapons should break left and right

So just a few weeks of time in-setting then, at best? If "story milestones" are your chosen method of advancement.

D&D General Weapons should break left and right

Should all future games continually focus only on the most popular options?

D&D General What version of D&D are you playing?

Not wanting to spend another $150 for books which aren't different enough from the 5.0 core (certainly not different in the ways I would want) is a big part of my reason.

D&D General Weapons should break left and right

I expect there's some kind of record out there, but all we can do is make the best guess based on whatever evidence is available. Tossing everything to the wind because we can't be sure doesn't work for me.

D&D General Weapons should break left and right

Haven't you hit 20th level in modern D&D after weeks of game time in the wild? Certainly after months.

D&D General Favorite Forgotten Realms products of all time?

It was a wonderful time to live through in D&D's history, that will never come again. Good thing most if it is still available to those who missed it!

Will the complexity pendulum swing back?

I still have my copy of Clan War.
  13. Micah Sweet

Will the complexity pendulum swing back?

Yeah, they're like sorcery points or spell slots conceptually.

Will the complexity pendulum swing back?

No doubt, but that's where I stand.

D&D General What version of D&D are you playing?

It's your poll, but I don't think everything non-WotC should be a single choice. They're just not that important IMO. I would say either break out the D&D alternatives as separate choices, or just go with official D&D and be explicit that only those games apply to the poll/thread.

D&D General What version of D&D are you playing?

I play PH only 5.0 with my kids, and A5e with mods with my friends. I also play DCC and/or Shadowdark when my friends who like those games can get together. I'm also fond of several games that most closely emulate B/X or BECMI of the official versions, but haven't been able to get a group...

D&D General Weapons should break left and right

That's what I was trying to say in the first place. Glad we agree to disagree. Perhaps, but "accountant game" is still an insulting term, regardless of the specific mechanics to which it is being referred.

Will the complexity pendulum swing back?

Luck and inspiration definitely fall into that category them in most cases.
