Hey all,
I was creating a Succubus character earlier for the heck of it and something came up. I don't know if this might've been answered before, but I couldn't find anything on it, so sorry if you're somehow offended. In any case, the question is, a monster class only gets feats when they're...
Anything by Matt Good, pretty much. As for my current absolute favorite song, that'd have to be Running For Home by the aforementioned band. Very good stuff. It's rare that I can just pop in any CD by an artist and love all the tracks on all the CDs without skipping anything.
Descent Freespace and Freespace 2 were the absolute best I've played. Both (especially part 2) should look really nice on your PC. Nebulae, good stories, great music, great graphics, and the some of the biggest ships you'll ever see in a Space Flight Sim (we're talking kilometers here)...
Tons of stuff, but primarily The Matthew Good Band, Tool, 30 Seconds to Mars, Left Pencey, and The Dave Matthews Band.
EDIT: Doh! How could I forget Guster!
With all these modern d20 RPGs coming out, almost every one of them handles the rules for rapid fire weaponry differently. My question is, in your humble opinion, which is the best method for handling this, and why?
Silhouette, Fuzion, Mekton, Palladium, Big Eyes Small Mouth, and Mechwarrior; to name a few. I can't really think of any others off the top of my head, but there's been a fair number, really.
A d20 system version of Robotech (including Macross Plus and Macross 7, of course) would rock very much. Even though I think that Silhouette is the best system for Mecha/Vehicles; d20 would still be great. As another poster said, anything is a vast improvement over Palladium.
My group's got a ton, so much so that we write down new ones all the time. I'll post a few here.
Player 1: "I'm going to put my hands on his shoulders."
Player 2: "How can you? I'm 20 feet tall."
Player 1: "You're a 20 foot tall human?"
Player 2: "No, I'm in dragon form."
Player 1: "Uh, we're...
Can't forget FF4 either, it was great (IMHO).
Actually, I made a MMX RPG ages ago, but it was it's own system. The game ran great and we had a blast. Eventually, I converted it to Big Eyes, Small Mouth, and now it's fallen by the wayside. It'd probably be alot of fun on d20 too. Maybe I'll get...
I've had good experiences with Children of Fire/The Window (found here: http://www.mimgames.com/madness/) It's also completely free.
Big Eyes, Small Mouth 2nd edition is quite simple, as another poster mentioned. It's now basically the Tri-Stat system, and can be found in a bunch of other RPGs...
I think I'd be an
Idiot Savant - Level 10
Str 8
Dex 11
Con 9
Int 11
Wis 12
Cha 10
Feats: Improved Stupid Mistake, Subsist on Ginger Ale, Waste Time, Wing It (a DM feat), Idiotbabble
Skills: Computer Use 13 ranks; Craft (Doodling) 13 ranks; Sleep Hard 13 ranks.
With the advent of 3e/d20, I've completely abandoned the use of the clunky old 2e ruleset. Sometime I'd like to use my old Rules Cyclopedia for a game or two, but nothing permanent, 3e is king now.
My recommendation would be to do it yourself (it's the only way it can be done right, naturally. ;)), either waiting for T20 (Traveller d20), d20 Modern, or even just using Call of Cthulhu d20 as a basis. And if you're shooting for a Dark Matter-specific one, then CoCd20 is the BEST choice IMHO...
