    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

Just an FYI they are already working on their next book and Perkins said it will have Artificer in it. Now if that is an updated class or just new sub class he did not specify but with it already in the works I think we will get it in 2025.

D&D 5E (2024) Are single class martials still going to be viable in 2024?

The wording of GWM is "to attacks you make with the attack action", they have added that to a few things so they don't work with weapon spells like true strike, they don't work on bonus action and they don't work on reactions.

Yeah I have to agree that I would rule it after you make your attack roll.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

So in my opinion the problem stems from having the bulk of your play testing done with people who know what the rules are supposed to mean. I have seen this same problem in other companies and other products. They know exactly how the hide rules are intended to work so when they read the rules...

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

That is way to much for the feat, also remember that all of our feats give us a +1 to a stat like dex for this one. The bonus for the dual weld feat has moved from welding 2 d8 weapons to having a 4th attack (assuming mastery) which is much better in my opinion. 2-3 bonus damage on average...

D&D 5E (2024) Learning to Love the Background System

So under the collections tab there is a button for brows create homebrew. If you go to make magical item you can type in the name of am existing one and just modify fit so you can change a vorpal sword and change they weapon type to any existing weapon so you can have a vorpal whip of you want...

D&D 5E (2014) Should the Paladin be changed into a more generic half-caster magic knight?

So I could see some type of arcane path for your paladin. I don't particularly feel like they are tied with divine thematically anymore just with their spell selection.

I am also hoping for rules in the DMG for learning tools and languages

Just to let you know the Dungeon Dudes asked this question at Gencon and were told by Perkins that you get TWF on both the attack from nic and the attack from Duel welder

D&D 5E (2024) Are single class martials still going to be viable in 2024?

Fighter W twohanded heavy weapon Cleve or Topple DPR: 11 lvl 1-3 str 17 two-handed weapon style DPR: 21 lvl 4 str 18 two-handed weapon style, GWM assuming bonus action attack every other round DPR: 35 lvl 5 str 18 two-handed weapon style, GWM assuming...

D&D 5E (2024) Are single class martials still going to be viable in 2024?

All Classes: you get your subclass at lvl 3 so for me taking a multi class dip before then is something I don't think I would personally ever do with a few rare exceptions. Fighter: You can get your bonus action attack at level 4 when you can pick up a feat, that combined with the fact that the...

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

Not that while you can draw as part of your attacks made with an attack action that last bonus action throw you will not be able to draw immediately. It shouldn't be a problem since you should always still have a dagger in one hand but something to remember.

D&D 5E (2024) Are single class martials still going to be viable in 2024?

So Paladins: a 1 lvl warlock for pact of the blade is nice but all of the martial styles feats provide you with are or dex so you are you are probably going to still get a fairly high str. Fighters, if you want a bonus action attack you will be picking up PAM, GWM, Crossbow Expert, or Dual...

D&D 5E (2024) Learning to Love the Background System

So I am curious what inability to customize are you talking about? I make custom backgrounds, custom subclasses, custom feats, custom magic items and custom monsters regularly. There are a few hiccups like certain things only being able to be added to a feat but not a magical item or sub...

D&D 5E (2024) Learning to Love the Background System

No I was talking about the ability in DND beyond to create your own background, feats, subclasses ect. Once the 2024 PHB drops when you go to creat a new background they will have a place to put your background feature instead of background feature and a place for the ASI Now as far as the...

Alas they are improvised weapons so no weapon masteries. If you are however a giant soul barbarian then you can set them on fire and throw them and they return to you automatically.

D&D 5E (2024) Learning to Love the Background System

Regardless of if they have the custom background feature in and beyond it is very easy to create your own backgrounds in DND beyond and that is not going away.

D&D 5E (2024) Do you understand the words coming out of my mouth? - Languages in 2024

First of, I love these backgrounds. Second I was quite disappointed to not see Martial adept or the similar fighting style in the core book. We have background feats that dip you into wizard, cleric, or druid but the martial one is Savage attacker and I just think something more interesting...

Or Gnomes, goblins there are a few races you can easily grab and use as an improvised weapon. For best results play a Goliath so you have no worries about how much they weigh and the ability to grow larger. So Goliath Sailor (for Tavern Brawler) then Dual Welder

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

Just as an FYI this math is off and there is no way to have both PAM and GWM at 5th level. 2(1d10+4) 19 + (1d4+4) = 25.5 35 if you are able to get off a reaction attack. With gwm as a 6th level fighter you now deal 31.5 or 41 with a reaction attack and finally a total of 44 if you use your...
