New D&D Monthly Survey: Mystics & Psionics

I don't think it would need much straight up conversions as it would be more backgrounds and such. I think that doing the Eberron UA was an acknowledgement in the fact that they weren't 'retiring' the setting or anything like that. Eberron is fairly new all told, so I actually expected them to...

New D&D Monthly Survey: Mystics & Psionics

Even if they never release a book for Greyhawk, it would be nice for them to acknowledge it in the same manner that the did Eberron in the Unearthed Arcana articles. A few "official" conversions of some key elements to 5E and maybe just a paragraph or two of fluff with a link to the old books...

New D&D Monthly Survey: Mystics & Psionics

I think that is what a lot of us that like Greyhawk get from it. While FR has a ton of really powerful entities just running around in the real world, in Greyhawk there are less of these in the bigger scene and more "backroom" type things going on that the players may never even see. As far as...

Reaper Bones 3: Nearly $400K In 2 Hours!

Some of that is 3d Terrain, some of it is their tile based system. Really cool. They added a stretch goal for Frost Giant Royalty, only about a half hour left.

Two PRIMEVAL THULE Previews In One Day? Check Out The Beastman!

That "Monsters not found in Thule" section makes me like this even more. This isn't FR and doesn't try to be a stew-of-many-parts type setting. Glad I backed it, might spring for the actual book too and not just the PDF.

Check out the 5E PRIMEVAL THULE Table of Contents!

Very excited now, low magic and cult of set in the same page makes me smile.

    Who Makes WotC's Adventures?

I think the big question is how much of the actual written word is done by the companies that they "outsource/contract/whatever" to? Is 90% of the written work done by non-WOTC employees? How much criticism goes into what they write from WOTC? If you can see a habit of less enjoyed adventures...

Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide: The First Official D&D 5E Setting

Thing is with FR, the gods are so integral to the setting that you are most times better off going with another one like even Greyhawk rather than trying to 'write the gods out' and use the lands. Personally I find that the glut of info on FR is actually a bad thing as it doesn't leave a lot...

Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide: The First Official D&D 5E Setting

This is my boat as well. Although there are plenty of folks that like FR and the bucket o' fantasy that it is, I am not a fan. I don't see any subclasses that intrigue me in there either, so that doubles down the pass.

AD&D 1E DMG and Monster Manual In PDF!

Obscure in the sense that you had to try and find a book that wasn't beat to hell in order to play it. Now with digital versions I don't have to worry that half the pages have crayon drawn in them if ordered from Ebay... I've seen more 3rd Edition books on old shelves in used bookstores than...

Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide: The First Official D&D 5E Setting

Seems like they did this purely to tie in to the video game, gonna pass.

AD&D 1E DMG and Monster Manual In PDF!

I'm glad as this means you can more easily play more obscure versions of D&D with others.

FANTASY AGE Can Now Be YOURS!

Eh, I'll stick with 5E then and get that Primeval Thule from Sasquatch instead.

So it is a humor adventure? Meh, might pass.

New D&D Survey: What Do you Want From Older Editions?

I voted for Greyhawk, Mystara and Dark Suns, three which I think are more interesting than Forgotten Realms. Shaman, Cavalier and Warden (even though Fey Pally is really close to Warden) are the classes I chose. I think they offer something just a little different than the current offerings...

    D&D 5E (2014) [Updated 2019] Fralex's Expanded Alchemy: Ingredient-foraging rules, extra items, and more

Well done, might use this as I have a player that really enjoys alchemy and herbalism.

D&D 5E (2014) Observations and opinions after 8 levels and a dragon fight

Tasha's Hideous Laughter also knocks enemies prone which would drop them out of the sky. It only has a range of 30 feet though, so a bit tougher. My players were able to finish off a dragon with a combination of that from a bard and bane from a paladin.

Mike Schley Working on GREYHAWK Maps?

Every time there is an adventure I want to use that is in Neverwinter or around it (like the starter set for 5E) I use Radigast City as a Greyhawk replacement. It has the coast and wildlands to the north as well as a swamp not far to the south and large swathes of land to the east. I don't...

Mike Schley Working on GREYHAWK Maps?

He just confirmed on Twitter that is exactly what he is doing and that the Greyhawk maps are not connected with his current secret project.
