The Day Has Come! It's An OGL! And A Store To Buy & Sell D&D 5E Products!

Yeah basically I can use the 5E OGL/SRD to make my campaign setting book, but I can't sell it on DMsGuild site since it isn't FR or non-specific. If I made a bunch of monsters that I didn't link to my campaign book I could publish those in DMsGuild since they wouldn't be setting specific. If I...

The Day Has Come! It's An OGL! And A Store To Buy & Sell D&D 5E Products!

Tweeted me back: @MikeMearls was the exclusion of the cantrip "Eldritch Blast" in the SRD an oversight or intent? Mike Mearls &#8207 @MikeMearls 5m5 minutes ago Mike Mearls Retweeted Barantor Oversight - we have an email and contact info embedded in the PDF for precisely this sort of thing...

The Day Has Come! It's An OGL! And A Store To Buy & Sell D&D 5E Products!

Setting Agnostic and FR stuff can go on DMsGuild site, stuff about the "World of Caoimaobau" needs to be sold elsewhere. http://www.dmsguild.com/whatisdmsguild.php The chart references 'settings' not anything else. So settings other than FR? Go sell elsewhere. FR or non-setting stuff? Sell on...

The Day Has Come! It's An OGL! And A Store To Buy & Sell D&D 5E Products!

http://www.dmsguild.com/whatisdmsguild.php So is 50% royalty the norm for selling on these sorts of sites? Says at the bottom other settings might be included in the future, here is crossing my fingers that I am able to sell my Greyhawk adventures in the future.

The Day Has Come! It's An OGL! And A Store To Buy & Sell D&D 5E Products!

Of note, the only artifact is the "Orb of Dragonkind" which is a Dragonlance Setting item if I remember right. None of the Greyhawk artifacts are included which makes me a bit sad.

The Day Has Come! It's An OGL! And A Store To Buy & Sell D&D 5E Products!

SRD - Lot more than the basic rules, it's basically "5E Basic 2.0" or something like that as it comes with all classes with one archetype, all races, magic items, multiclass rules and some more. OGL - Very generic, I await the discussion on the AMA and further analysis by actually knowledgable...

HeroLab and Realmworks Support for D&D 5E? An Imminent 5th Edition SRD?

This was a slick move for them, I think it helps out with the folks that want the bloat but then they don't have to acknowledge any of it.

Which D&D Settings Do You Play In?

I guess I buck the trend a bit as the campaign I am running is set in Nyrond in Greyhawk. I think the dabbling and constant big changes in the Realms have always turned me away from that one and most of my players have no problem with Greyhawk. It was really easy to convert once I just...

    D&D 5E (2014) Minis and no grid?

I do this now as it keeps my players thinking about what they want to do rather than what they can do. They tended to treat the grids like a chessboard so it took forever for them to make any move.

Here's That Hi-Res Sword Coast Map

I make very specific donations to very specific charities that I have vetted and researched so that I know that the money I donate isn't going to something that the intent is for it to go to. I donate a specific amount each year and that is it, because between all the bills I have in life, it is...

Remember RAPPAN ATHUK? Own The Campaign Setting!

I understand that and I have other Necro/Frog god products so I know their style, which feels more 'old school' than some of the other settings that have come out. Good gods aren't absent in Greyhawk and the bad gods are 'right there' in that setting too, so I guess I will probably pass and...

Remember RAPPAN ATHUK? Own The Campaign Setting!

From the preview it looks very "Greyhawk-esque" but my question looking it over is why you wouldn't just use Greyhawk? Is there anything that makes it stand out on it's own?

Onyx Path: Business As Usual... For Now, At Least

If they link the tabletop games to the video games Paradox will inevitably make then they might have something that will bring more players to both series of game which could be a good thing.

D&D Does Digital Part II: Virtual Tabletops

It would be interesting to try and document all the old virtual tabletops that have popped up and either died off or kinda become a niche community over the years. When Roll20 hit the scene it made it super easy with it's browser based system, but there have been VTs trying to sit us down online...

D&D Does Digital Part I: MUDs & MMORPGs

As an avid MMORPG and D&D and Fantasy gamer I have seen the rise of video gaming in D&D-esque settings and reveled in it. Sometimes there are games that I don't find enjoyable, just like the settings in tabletop adventures, but just as the setting books there is always one you find better...

D&D 5E (2014) [Primeval Thule] House rules for spellcasting

I would be a little different with it than the way DCC put theirs together, though you might want to still use their tables for this idea. Cumulative madness/corruption over the course of a day check. Each spell that they cast gives them 1 point and you can increase that to equal the spells...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dex-based greatsword?

I would just tell the ranger to use a sunblade after you provide them with it. It is still versatile so it is about as close as you can get without changing the rules up somewhat. It will also let them use a shield when they want to only use it one handed.

D&D 5E (2014) The Official Poll! What THREE things do you like most about D&D 5th Edition?

I like that it is fairly simple with the rules and easy to get into. I have brought more folks into the game or at least looking at it with this edition than any other.

Here Come The PRESTIGE CLASSES! Plus Rune Magic!

If it's just multiclassing like everything else then why not just not do it and take away from the complexity that inevitably happens when adding sub-systems like this? My thought is that you could easily add all these abilities to an archetype and if someone wants to detour into it then the...
