    There's something about Runepriests.

Weird class is weird. I am scavenging powers and features out of the runepriest for a hybrid-only Runemaster class. Why on earth is the runic class Strength primary and completely weapon dependent?

    Archer Warlord+Battlefront Leader+Armored Warlord? Cheese?

The DM is one of my players who decided to set up a second group for 5 of us who would not mind running two games a week, and I don't think he'll mind the concept.

3 Leaders in a group - too many?

Very much agreed. After the first four you want to consider a second striker (heck as soon as you have defender and leader you could just start adding strikers.) But anyway this really depends on what type of bard your friend is interested in. If he is interested on inspiration heavy bard, or a...

3 Leaders in a group - too many?

Or you could let the wizard retool to Bard/Wizard hybrid. Int bards are pretty "controllery" and the best part of wizard is the dailies which she can still pick (plus an area attack at-will I guess, and given this is a human she'll still have three of those). Heck pick some illusion wizard...

    Archer Warlord+Battlefront Leader+Armored Warlord? Cheese?

Well heavily-armored archers give me the samurai vibe tbh which is part of what I am looking for with this combo. And honestly I like having both ranged and melee options, especially as a warlock. I want to be able to stay back for 1-2 rounds so that the group is deployed before I pick my melee...

Why isn't WotC acknowledging Grind issue?

By the gods, 4E truly did turn into Warcraft; people complain about things with no real ground . . . ~ this is an example of threadcrapping. Don't do it. Admin ~

    Archer Warlord+Battlefront Leader+Armored Warlord? Cheese?

Not the need for scale, the need for longbows as well. And I like heavy armor thank you, flavor>numbers.

    Archer Warlord+Battlefront Leader+Armored Warlord? Cheese?

The concept is making a tactlord that is mainly attacking in melee but also has a few ranged abilities with a longbow. A great tactician should adapt right? Plus Paint the Bulls-eye is a very nice at-will:)

    Archer Warlord+Battlefront Leader+Armored Warlord? Cheese?

Technically I can take both Archer Warlord and Battlefront Leader at creation for my tactlord and then take the armored warlord feat (at first level). This means I can use scale armor but not chain according to the CB. It probably is right by RAW and it does really helps my character concept...

    OotS #706 is up!

Ok it is a completely silly panel (Beyond how awesome the allies are against the goblins and Recloaks nerdy linear strategies), but I literally lol'd at the dancing knights and I don't know why.

Official Rules Updates (March 02, 2010)

There is obviously an argument on the importance of each defense. Wizards has not made it easy there either tbh; it would have been logical for many attacks that currently are damage+effect to be damage plus secondary attack to a more appropriate def so as to apply said effect. Attacks vs AC or...

Official Rules Updates (March 02, 2010)

Honestly the importance of increasing or decreasing returns leads to two conclusions: Because your defenses face increasing returns, then if they are naturally high, every time you increase them you get more out of the increase. If I can only be hit if the enemy rolls a 16 or higher and...

Official Rules Updates (March 02, 2010)

Ah you see, there is the problem. The actual increase always is (P1-P2/P2) where P1 is the probability after the change and P1 is the original probability; that is because an increase in chance for something to happen from a previous state is a conditional probability. So all probabilities that...

Which FR focused sourcebook should I buy?

I pretty much have every book published on FR. Unapproachable East stands among these books as a potentially separate mini setting that can be transplanted anywhere (or played along without consideration for the rest of the realms). Underdark is a great book. I prefer the 4E underdark book but...

    Famous Black Dragons

Just to fill in on Deathwing, he was once Neltharion, the Earth Warden, aspect of the Earth. An enormous black dragon tasked by the Titans to preserve Azeroth he was the most respected until the sinister Old Gods trapped in the depths of Azeroth drove him mad. During the War of the Ancients he...

    Somebodies got PHB3!

Hehe, when you think how freely D&D violates most any other science, even those were handwaving it with "It's magic" still makes no sense, this insistence on biological correctness (and I am not talking just about boobs here) is downright weird.

    Somebodies got PHB3!

As said, it is mostly combos that use minor action powers to front load damage (very high damage per turn) or plays on OP staples that use hybrids to get the combo out (feycharger variables). I've never been worried tbh since my players would never pick these tricks, they are usually cheese and...

Is D&D all about murder and pillaging?

What insensible arrogance. This is not a debate club. The topic is not supposed to be defined in absolutes. The sentence structure that something is all about something else is widely used to mean that the subject is largely about the predicate. Trying to prove your point as if this is a case to...

Pathfinder 1E Is PAIZO becoming the next Wizards?

D&D 3E is not that much different from AD&D. People just don't consider the full Player's Option version of AD&D. A lot of the new things in 3E were created there.

Is D&D all about murder and pillaging?

Exactly. Heck if they think it should be a DM decision, is there any real notice in DMG about monster morale? It really gave an additional dimension to the game, and would help 4E grind issues if implemented correctly. The problem I've seen with morale in AD&D was that some players memorized...
