I remember several decades ago; Palladium Games was planning to come out with a TMNT and Other Strangeness 2. But the plan never went thru because they were worried about the target audience not buying it thanks to the first TMNT cartoon.

What makes a class satisfying is how you role-play one during a gaming session.

For some, Pathfinder 1st edition was seen as 3.75e D&D. I gravitated towards it because of its' familiarity. It was a slight improvement over 3.5 but it still gave you the feeling that you were still playing D&D.

While the 3.5 Ranger had access to one of two Combat Styles, the PF1 Ranger had access to a lot more from its' core rulebook and accessories. Archery, Crossbow, Deceptive, Elemental, Menacing, Mounted Combat, Natural Weapon, Thrown Weapon, Two-Handed Weapon, Two-Weapon Fighting, Underhanded...

And depending on whether or not you picked Two-Weapon Fighting or Archery, you also gained access to several Bonus Feats from doing so.
